I typically try to stick to just writing positive reviews for products I love - but this monitor system is SO bad, I feel compelled to warn people. We had a standard, nothing-fancy Motorola system with our first baby. The portable screen broke after a couple years so we tried something new with baby #2. We’d always heard this brand was top of the line. Within 3 months of my son being born, this system has failed us miserably. The camera itself is not a clear picture - especially at night when we use it most - and that’s when it’s actually WORKING! In the last week, we haven’t been able to see it at all. It just is a blank screen trying to connect and then gives us a ‘camera is offline’ message. The camera problem was so bad, we started just using it for the audio background on our phones. Now THAT isn’t working. We have excellent internet, so that’s not the issue. No other problems with electronics in the house (we have a series of other cameras, smart plugs, etc) which leads us to believe this system is the issue…and created a LOT of frustration for this new momma. It’s very possible we just got a lemon since others have no issues. But I cannot recommend this monitor system based on the problems we’ve had in just a few short weeks. ... show more

We love our owlet camera! My favorite things about it are the picture quality and sound quality. The night vision is excellent. You can adjust the sensitivity to the sound in the app. It’s always alerted us immediately to any sound or cry (again, you can edit your alert preferences fully in the app). This camera does allow you to set it up to where it’ll record clips when there’s sound or movement. One of my FAV features is that it allows you to turn off the light on the camera so there’s no light shining in your baby’s face!!!! Game changer as other monitors we have had, we have to put tape over the light and it still shines through which is so annoying bc we want our baby’s room to stay pitch black. To be fully transparent, the only issue we have is that sometimes the camera doesn’t want to load in the app and we can’t see our baby until we’ve closed the app about 2 or 3 times. I just don’t know that I can fully blame that on the owlet product or app bc it definitely could be our internet. I would recommend this camera! ... show more

I wasted hours trying to get this set up. It would scan the QR code and would flash blue to indicate it was attempting to connect to our WiFi, but it would repeatedly fail and re-enter pairing mode, eventually producing error code OC 20. After spending hours playing with router settings and scouring the internet for fixes, I finally came across a reddit post where someone discovered this device completely ignores non-alphanumeric characters in WiFi passwords. My WiFi password contained a percent sign. I created a guest 2.4GHz guest WiFi with an alphanumeric password and it worked immediately. ... show more

I went against the poor reviews and ordered this monitor. I wanted to love this product, but it has so many flaws for the price. It disconnects from the internet, freezes, and the temperature never seems accurate. With that being said, I love the owlet sock, so I hope they can fix their mistakes and make a better camera. Takes some time to get it connected to WiFi so be sure you have a 2.4/5g type and not just 5g. Sound is always very reliable but can’t say the same for the video. Quality isn’t great which is odd to me considering even the cheapest WiFi cameras these days have superior quality than this. Even with good WiFi connectivity, the video takes a while to come up and I’ve found it easier to just restart the app if I need to view live video on it. Not a terrible product but I doubt I’d buy again if ever needed another one. ... show more
