  • Peace of Mind
Style: Gen 1 Mint
I love this product! I am so grateful for this! At night or during nap time, it lets me be able to have peace of mind without having to check on baby all the time. My only complaint about this is that it connects to wifi so if the connection is down or you don't have wifi, it is hard to use. But overall, we love this and are so very grateful we got it ... show more

  • I would rate it a zero if they had a zero. NOT get the camera to work!
Style: Gen 1 Rose
Never did get it to work. Bought as a baby shower gift in March. Of course it was not needed immediately, so several people tried to set it up once it was needed and get it working but it did not work. Now the return time has lapsed so a lot of money wasted on an expensive item. This is a case of cost did not equate quality. UPDATE: customer service made it good and the new one works great. ... show more

  • Owlet is an anxiety reliever!
Style: Gen 2 Blue
My wife and I are so pleased with our owlet. We are blessed by the assurance that our daughter is being monitored and we will be alerted if her oxygen levels are low or pulse rate changes while she sleeps. Before having an owlet, we scare awaked several times checking her breathing, not knowing if she was sleeping soundly. Now we have assurance! We highly recommend this product! ... show more

  • Let Me Save You Big Money - This is Trash
Style: Gen 1 Blue
I'm all about the power of biometric data to create a better life. I've been using fitness trackers for nearly a decade. I check the health app on my phone daily. I make decisions based on the feedback they provide, and my overall health has improved greatly. So I saw this as a godsend. In truth? It's a waste of money. Let's start with the Camera - the framerate is worse than a 2005 webcam. I first encountered this problem during setup when I was trying to point the camera in the correct direction. I would move the camera, then have to wait several seconds to see the updated picture on the app. Now don't get me wrong - the resolution is great. This would make a fine still camera. But as a full motion camera, particularly one that is timely, it fails miserably. The motion alerts are practically useless. Way too many false alarms. There can be nothing in the room whatsoever, and it will trigger a motion alert. Trying to figure out what caused it? Good luck because the app does not store video at all. This is frankly the biggest failure of the camera part of this product is that you cannot review stored footage. I wound up installing an old Ring cam in the room for this purpose. I discovered that in part, one thing that will cause a false motion alarm is if outside sunlight changes, such as at sunrise, sunset, or if something outside casts a shadow. Also, those motion alerts - they can be several seconds or even a minute later than the thing that triggers it. As far as the physical camera goes, it appears to be well made with quality hardware. The application on the other hand basically cripples it, making it a very poor quality and low value items. Shame on Owlet. and their app developers for putting such a pathetic app into the market with a straight face. Everyone who needs a cam is far better off buying a cheap Ring cam. Now to the anklet monitor. Again, the monitor itself is great. Once you get it adjusted correctly, it is comfortable and stays in place without causing the baby any discomfort. The app on the other hand fails miserably. You cannot review real-time or even near-real-time data. You cannot review historical data. You cannot set your own alert levels based on heart rate and/or SPO2. Frankly, the app makes the actual monitor useless. Its only discernible use appears to be in providing false alerts. I'm going to say one thing about the anklet in Owlets favor - I'm aware that the application is somewhat neutered because the FDA in its infinite stupidity decided that a biomonitor for babies should be regulated as a medical device. Rest assured that wherever there is a private sector solution, the government will come. in and turn it into a problem. But having said that, Owlet should have not have caved, and should have fought the FDA on this one. There are other monitors on the market which circumvent whatever brain-dead shackles the FDA have dictated for it. I would strongly recommend you don't buy this. Instead, take the money put it into a college fund. Update 10/24/2023: As miserable a product as this is, I didn't expect to get just 6 months of use out of. The battery started to degrade significantly. It now does not even make it through a full nights sleep. In fact, the State of Charge reported by the app goes from a reported 16 hours to just 30 minutes of available charge, in an hour. This thing woke my kid up two nights in a row with it's obnoxiously loud musical alert from the base station, which cannot be disabled. The app on the other hand didn't even register an issue until I opened it. And how I'm having to deal with ridiculously long wait times and runarounds from their customer service while trying to get it RMAd. Oh, and the camera got worse. I have to kill the app and restart it to see what is actually going on at any given time. It takes forever for both the camera and the base station to connect or update over wifi despite being just 6 and 8 feet from the wifi hotspot respectively. ... show more

  • A must for every parent!
Style: Gen 2 Mint
My baby was in the NICU with oxygen issues for a few weeks so getting this was a no brainer for us. I love that it alerts us if something is wrong, which it did when his heart rate was too high due to a fever which turned out to be pneumonia. The battery life is also AMAZING and so is the charging speed! I do think there could be several improvements. 1: the fabric of the sock is really crappy, my baby has used it for all of 2 months and it’s already coming apart. I get it, it used every night and babies rub their feet all the time but Im sure there are better and more durable fabrics. 2: The app is amazing but there should be a working widget to go along with it. 3: The connectivity needs a little improvement. My house is not very big and I have to constantly move the base station around when I want to monitor my LO during the day. Other than that, I am honestly extremely grateful for this device. I have more peace of mind at night knowing that my baby is being monitored all night. It’s worth every single penny. ... show more

  • Sock is great for peace of mind, be wary of the camera if you can't switch your wifi to 2.4Ghz
Style: Gen 1 Blue
First, we like the sock as it really helps us sleep at night. Our issues are really with the app and the camera. There are some issues with the alerts, but some of that is us having the base station in a different room than where the baby sleeps. Probably the most annoying thing about the sock and base is the "can't get a reading" alert, which is supposed to mean that the sock has shifted. We've had nights where the baby is completely asleep and not moving and that alert will go off and we'll need to turn the base station off and back on to make it stop. That being said, it doesn't happen often so we can deal with it. Having the ability to dismiss the alerts from the app if you're away from the base station is great, if the app actually loaded fast enough to make it worth it. I've counted around 45 seconds for the app to finally give you the prompt screen to dismiss the alert, meanwhile the base station is blaring away. Thankfully the song it plays doesn't wake the baby. We've been unable to connect the camera at all. It has something to do with our wifi connection (2.4Ghz vs 5Ghz) because the camera can't support a 5Ghz connection. I understand that's not the fault of the camera, but if any of the descriptions had listed that specifically we wouldn't have spent the extra for the camera. ... show more
