I just had my first child and this is an absolute must! It allows me to sleep with ease as I know my baby is being monitored. You can easily set up/connect to app. It comes with right and left sock allowing you to alternate feet. I can be in another room and still monitor the baby through the app. I also like that alerts sound on the charging base and your phone. I have been using the Owlet sock for almost 3 months now. We have only had a “false” alert one time and thankfully, it was when it was on charge. This is definitely worth the money! As someone who has really bad anxiety, this gives me the ability to breathe and feel more secure. He wears the sock every night and doesn’t have any irritation. I love this and would purchase again! The only “con” that I have discovered is that sometimes, it disconnects from the internet but that’s an easy fix! ... show more

tl;dr The device provides peace of mind when it works, but seems to be built to only last a year as we've had two of them that stopped working between 11-12 months which is also the limit on their warranty. We just can't afford to buy a $300 device for every kid so we won't be buying another one. PROS: - Helpful data that gives peace of mind that your baby is okay - Vitals can give you early signs that your baby is getting sick or recovering from sickness CONS: - Only last 11-12 months (we've had this happen with two socks) - Strict warranty, if you contact them about an issue after 12 months of purchasing they will not help you - App has some bugs and navigating the app can be confusing We purchased the original Smart Sock from Owlet for our first child. The sock and the app worked great, providing helpful vitals data that gave us peace of mind. When the company got into hot water with the FDA over their original Smart Sock, our sock which had worked perfectly for almost a year suddenly stopped working. It would no longer connect to the Owlet Care app. When we contacted support they said that our sock was outside the 12 month warranty (Though it stopped working before that. Buyer beware, if you have any issues at all with this sock before 12 months, contact the company immediately or they will not work with you). We hoped that this was a fluke with their original device and the trouble they got into with the FDA over portraying it as a medical device. So with our second child we decided to try it again and bought their new Dream Sock. The device itself worked just as well as the first one. They also had a new app that was more confusing and less helpful, but overall the system still provided peace of mind. When our second child was around 11 months the system started having trouble. It would constantly give us Yellow warnings but when we would check on our baby everything was fine. We tried adjusting the sock placement, resetting it with the base station, cleaning it, everything. Eventually the sock stopped sending information to the base station at all. The app would show that it was connected to the sock, but no vital information would come through. When we finally decided it was time to contact Owlet about this, we were just over the 12 month warranty window and they refused to fix or replace the device. Overall, while we love the functionality and peace of mind it gives us, it's too expensive of a device to only last a year. If you're planning to have multiple kids, expect that you'll have to buy a new one for each child. I see other reviews mention a similar experience so I know we're not alone. ... show more

I love the owlet sock! My son is 6 weeks old and we have been using it since we brought him home from the hospital it has given me no issues or any false alarms. The only thing is, is that it can sometimes have a lot of alarms because of the placement of the sock if the baby moves it off his foot but you just have to make sure you put it on correctly, it helps me sleep easy at night, and not watching over him 24/7 because I’m scared he’s gonna stop breathing at night. I highly highly highly recommend for parents who are having a hard time sleeping due to anxiety of continuously watching their child at night. It’s expensive, but definitely worth the price because I know that if something were to happen to my child, it’s better for me to spend x amount of money than lose my child because I didn’t know he stopped breathing. ... show more

I purchased this for my own overthinking, worried and stressed new mom self. I have found that it did help easy my mind up until the 1 month in app update. DO NOT IN APP UPDATE!! When your child hits one month old, the app offers a free in app update and it’s not reversible once updated. I have had so many WiFi connection issues since the update and I wish I had read reviews before updating. Before the update I never had issues with the sock disconnecting from the network but since the update it disconnects at random times maybe every few days and is hard to get it to reconnect. I did reach out to the warranty department directly and let them know the issue and they sent me a new sensor free of charge, I have not tested the new sensor yet but I will tonight. Other than the connection issues post updating, it is very accurate for its readings or heart rate, oxygen levels, and when the baby is active or sleeping. It says it has a 16-18 hour charge but it really is closer to a 13-15 hour charge. It does charge fast and easy to use once set up but the set up can be a pain. It comes with 4 boots, 2 smaller size for left and right foot and 2 larger. The boot is adjustable with Velcro and fits the way it’s supposed to. Over all I feel it was worth the purchase for the peace of mind but I have read from many reviews that it doesn’t seem to last longer than a year.
