  • Peace of mind, preferred over Nannit
Style: Mint
I am a high anxiety mom. This gives me some peace of mind! I still check on my baby regularly (okay a lot), but this allows me to get some sleep knowing that he is being monitored! We bought this and the Nannit to try. I like the owlet better than Nannit because the sock can be used throughout the house whereas with the Nannit baby needs to be under the camera for it to work. You do not need to have the owlet camera for the sock to work, though I do recommend it! I also like that this tells baby’s heart rate, blood oxygen levels, and quality of sleep (light, deep, awake). The Nannit only counts baby’s breaths per min. It’s fairly easy to use and get set up! Sometimes it disconnects from our WiFi, but not often and that is probably more an issue with our WiFi. I would love for it to have a back up mode though if wifi goes out! The sock is soft and easy to put on. Multiple sizes come with it, look on the inside of the sock for sizing and left/right foot. I will say though that when we initially tried it our baby was 5.5 pounds, and it did not fit well. It alerted us that it was having trouble getting readings. After our baby put on a little weight it worked great! ... show more

  • Awesome product! Gives peace of mind
Style: Blue
Worth the money, it's great and gives us peace of mind, it even predicts when your baby should be ready for a nap during the day and it's pretty accurate. I love this sock and I recommend it over any other product like this. You get to monitor your baby in the moment and if it comes loose or anytime is wrong an alarm does go off ... show more

  • Peace of Mind and LIFESAVING! ❤️
Style: Mint
This sock has been the main reason why I've been able to get any sleep since bringing my baby home 4 months ago. Today it was the reason why I caught a BRUE incident where my baby stopped breathing and was unresponsive. It was one of the worst experiences of my life, but am so incredibly thankful for having bought this sock and that she's been wearing it every night or I might not have been able to catch this and help her this morning. CONS: Alarm goes off for false readings at times, when the battery is low if you didn't get it in the charger early enough for bed, will go off if you place it too close to another electronic device (like your monitor), or when your baby is moving too much. At 4 months old now, mine has figured out that if she just does leg lifts in the morning she gets a quick little dance party with the alarm going off and light flashing, she'll cheer as the alarm goes off, then excitedly looks at my bedroom door cause she knows I'm about to run out to make sure she's okay. PROS: Has allowed me to get rest and have some kind of reassurance that my baby is safe since she was born. Instructions say it's 1 month+, but we started using it early cause PPA and PPD made it hard for me to sleep. Caught BRUE incident today and allowed us to seek medical care asap to make sure she's okay. I know what I'm buying for my sister that's trying for her first for her baby shower. I will forever be grateful of this device! ... show more

  • It works, but only for a year
Style: Green
tl;dr The device provides peace of mind when it works, but seems to be built to only last a year as we've had two of them that stopped working between 11-12 months which is also the limit on their warranty. We just can't afford to buy a $300 device for every kid so we won't be buying another one. PROS: - Helpful data that gives peace of mind that your baby is okay - Vitals can give you early signs that your baby is getting sick or recovering from sickness CONS: - Only last 11-12 months (we've had this happen with two socks) - Strict warranty, if you contact them about an issue after 12 months of purchasing they will not help you - App has some bugs and navigating the app can be confusing We purchased the original Smart Sock from Owlet for our first child. The sock and the app worked great, providing helpful vitals data that gave us peace of mind. When the company got into hot water with the FDA over their original Smart Sock, our sock which had worked perfectly for almost a year suddenly stopped working. It would no longer connect to the Owlet Care app. When we contacted support they said that our sock was outside the 12 month warranty (Though it stopped working before that. Buyer beware, if you have any issues at all with this sock before 12 months, contact the company immediately or they will not work with you). We hoped that this was a fluke with their original device and the trouble they got into with the FDA over portraying it as a medical device. So with our second child we decided to try it again and bought their new Dream Sock. The device itself worked just as well as the first one. They also had a new app that was more confusing and less helpful, but overall the system still provided peace of mind. When our second child was around 11 months the system started having trouble. It would constantly give us Yellow warnings but when we would check on our baby everything was fine. We tried adjusting the sock placement, resetting it with the base station, cleaning it, everything. Eventually the sock stopped sending information to the base station at all. The app would show that it was connected to the sock, but no vital information would come through. When we finally decided it was time to contact Owlet about this, we were just over the 12 month warranty window and they refused to fix or replace the device. Overall, while we love the functionality and peace of mind it gives us, it's too expensive of a device to only last a year. If you're planning to have multiple kids, expect that you'll have to buy a new one for each child. I see other reviews mention a similar experience so I know we're not alone. ... show more

  • Worth every penny$$
Style: Mint
Absolutely worth all of the money!! The one item i recommend to mamas asking for advice on things they need for their babies. I’ll never NOT use one of these for my children. I’ve seen people complain of false alarms but we’ve never had any issues. It truly gives you a peace of mind like EVERYONE says. We did use this until recommended weight on sock. Sometimes connectivity was an issue but overall very accurate and great product! ... show more

  • For such an expensive item you wouldn’t expect a subscription.
Style: Blue
I’m not happy with the fact a subscription is offered for all services since this item is so expensive, the connection length isn’t super far. If I go to the restroom about 20 ft from the base station, with my son, it will constantly alert about lost signal. Helps me keep a peace of mind while I sleep and he sleeps, it works fairly well. I dislike the “night sleep schedule,” because my son is only a month old and doesn’t actually have a schedule yet. ... show more
