A little skeptical at first since I like traditional baking utensils but but hate the tough cleaning and these are actually a game changer! These compact all together so their footprint is even less than a standard mixing bowl! What a space saving bonus that is! They do not have a smell but I washed them before using the first time. They are easy to press from flat into shape and are thick/solid enough to hold good form, even full of heavy baking ingredients. They hold warmth uniformly, for a beautiful dough rise! The media could not be loaded. Although this kit is specifically for making sourdough bread, some of the supplies are great for multiple uses: the silicone bowls can be storage baskets or to wash or mix things in. I keep one in bathroom for mixing haircare stuff. It is then easy to rinse out and flatten for storage. I gave the oval bowl to my mom and she uses it for a storage basket in the kitchen. The dough whisk is not only for mixing bread dough, but my mom uses it for making gravy. It is solid metal and very sturdy. The silicone basting brush is handy for spreading oil or melted butter on any kind of bread. The scoring tool is actually great for poking vegetables or other foods with to see if they are done. You can attach the included scoring heads to it for scoring bread if you want. The dough scraper is very helpful when I make gnocchi. I can slice the gnocchi with it and also scrape up the dough off the counter. Additionally, it has measurements engraved on it for quick reference. ... show more
