All the others have a very thin gel pad, this one has an inch thick gel honeycomb pad on top of the memory foam. It's FAR superior. It has a soft, velvety cover with a carry handle.

I ordered this cushion to use on my very worn computer chair seat and I believe it was a wise choice. The first thing that grabbed my attention was when I picked up the box it shipped in and it weighed more than I expected. I took it out of the plastic protective bag, let it "relax" for a few minutes and tried it out - on an unpadded metal outdoor chair - it was very comfortable. . I think the honeycomb gridding on top keeps you from sinking down into the cushion as happens with some memory foam so you don't feel like you're "bogged down" into it. The cover is well fitted to the cushion and made of very soft material. The zipper works smoothly and had no loose threads. Between the nice weight of the cushion and the bottom design of the cover it doesn't slip around on my chair - and that's a pretty big deal to me. I did not take it out of the fabric cover but I did upzip it to take a look inside - to me the memory foam appears to be of good quality and the honeycomb material well attached to it. I've only had it for a few days but I spend a LOT of time at my computer so it's had quite a few hours of use. I find it very comfortable and it has good support. As I type out this review, I am sitting on this chair cushion . When I ordered it a few weeks ago, it was to replace an aging memory foam cushion that I have used on my office chair for years. It had lost a lot of it's "cushiony" and needed to be replaced. This one looked and sounded good in the Amazon listing, so I got it. It arrived quickly, packed well and looked just as I was expecting. I immediately tried it out and first noticed how much higher it was that the previously deflated cushion. I had to lower my chair height to compensate. It felt better than the old one and I thought we would make a great happy team. But, alas, over time I started to feel like there was a comfort level that it just was not reaching. Maybe it is just me, but it is just not as comfortable as I wanted it to be. Maybe it is just me. Maybe my butt is too big (or small). Maybe I'm too light (or heavy). Perhaps my chair is wrong for this cushion. Not sure....just something missing. All that said, it might be perfect for you. It looks and feels high quality. At the advertised price, and with a return option, it might just be worth a try. ... show more

I can't compare to other solutions since it's my first cushion like this, but it's exactly what I was looking for - it's stiff enough that it provides a good rise & keeps your coccyx/spine from taking pressure because of the cut out in back, but not so stiff that it's uncomfortable. I was worried the honeycombs would be annoying but they aren't, even through thin pants. It's nice to be able to sit without pain again! It inflated rapidly after unpacking. It does have a bit of a "new car smell" so I aired it for awhile. It's much heavier than I expected, 2.5 pounds, so the detail of having a handle is a nice touch which makes it easy to carry from chair to chair. The bottom has anti-slip material so it sits solidly on my fabric chair and didn't slide on my wooden chair either. It seems well-stitched, the zipper opens easily so the cover will come off for washing, and the velvet is soft. I'm about 130 lbs and do not compress it. It didn't feel hot after a few hours, but it's not hot here so I can't comment on the cooling part. I've included a picture of the inside, which sprung right back after all day sitting (not sure why my foam was spotted). I highly recommend! ... show more

Needed something for my office chair that has no padding or support whatsoever. Other coworkers have had this style of pad so I thought I would give this a try. This cushion is pretty thick and comfortable - but I wish it was just a bit bigger to fit my office chair. I really like this seat cushion! I have a lot of back pain and my bottom will go numb if I'm sitting for long periods time, especially if I'm doing a detailed tattoo. This cushion helps with comfort, my chair is more comfy to sit on, and it helps with bottom and back pain. My husband doesn't like it, he can feel the little grids or whatever, so the feel will be different for each person I guess. It fits my chair really well. I apparently had it positioned backwards and didn't know it, until one of my teens pointed it out lol. Either way, it's comfy! Overall, I like this seat cushion for myself. It takes pressure off my bottom, helps my back, and is comfy to sit in for long periods of time when I'm drawing or doing a tattoo. I plan to buy another for my computer chair! ... show more
