I bought this a few weeks ago after a flight to Florida and a failure of a lumbar pillow left my lower back killing me. My husband and I got the Purple Harmony pillows back in the beginning of May and honestly, we’re obsessed and haven’t had more comfortable sleep, so we figured we’d give this cushion a try. I had it in time for my return flight a few days later and it was a life saver. It is so comfortable and my back felt 100x better than it did on the first flight.     • Very Comfortable, Great Support vs. Silly Setup, Bad Strap

Most lumbar support pillows I’ve bought feel like leaning on bumpy rock. This actually cushions and I feel better when I stand up whether it’s hours or minutes. However, the strap that’s supposed to hold it in place needs adjustment every time I sit down. Now I just lift it into place when I sit down. Setup was a bit frustrating. The picture shows the cushion coming out from the side of the case. However, the zipper runs across the case in the middle. This means you have to bend and twist the cushion to get it in place. If Purple is reading this, move the zipper to the top or along the side as pictured it would change install and removal time from minutes to mere seconds. I still wouldn’t return it to go find another back cushion that’s as good as this AND has a more secure strap system. The quality is that great. This is so comfortable Im now looking into possibly buying their bed. ... show more

We've purchased two of these, one for the wife and I and one for our daughter to use at her firm. They're super comfortable and the mounting straps work very well. My only gripe is the pillows are really small. At least for me, but I'm slightly larger than the average bear, that being 6-7, 250. Yeah, big and ugly, that's me. I would recommend this product and I have no doubt you'll be pleased with your purpose.     • Doesn’t fit my chair very well

My chair’s shape doesn’t work with this product (it’s wide at the top and then narrows down) so no matter how tight I make the strap, it invariably ‘slips’ down after a while. If I move it to a different chair and just lean back on it, that works - but it still needs adjusting periodically.

This cushion is great for lumbar support; the gel structure is cooler and more resilient than a fiber-fill or memory-foam based product. I will likely buy another when I have extra income for other applications. I bought this with Purple's "Portable" cushion as their website suggests that cushion is good for tall people in small cars, though I didn't find that to be true. This back cushion however is a godsend for my Chevy Cobalt's poorly designed driver seat. Criticisms: My advice to purple: Please document what the loops on the back of the cover are for. There is no indication or documentation I could find that describes what to use them for or how to use them, although I found some generic text referencing a "handle" on this cover, which seems to be left over from another cushion. Logic tells me these loops are to secure the cushion to the seat with elastic bands or straps. While this was sold as "New" direct from Purple's Prime store, it did not come in a box like the Portable Cushion. This bothered me because I hadn't selected "no-hassle" shipping and the other cushion came with information about it. The cushion isn't affected by this shipping decision, but I would have appreciated a heads up. Receiving it without the packaging made it feel incomplete, especially when shipped next to the portable cushion. I felt like it was missing important information such as "Don't leave this in a 'superheated' car because it will deform if pressure is applied when heated above 105ºF" and perhaps straps to keep it in place on a seat-back. ... show more
