If you're like me, you might be wondering if these are actually better than the other similarly priced castors on Amazon. In particular, the metal framed ones with clear wheels that all look identical, from many different sellers, at a price point for every budget. Well, I bought both so I could find out. Short Answer: Yes. These castors are great! Better than the metal framed ones in a few key ways: - Quieter. When you jiggle or move the chair the swivel bearings do not feel loose and rattle around like the metal ones do. - Stronger. The improved, sealed swivel bearing design is an obvious improvement. - Smart. The plastic housing covers the top side of the wheel so your feet can rest on them without preventing it from rolling. (seems like a small thing but makes a difference on something you use every day) - Appealing. The plastic housing just looks better and matches the plastic base of most office chairs really well. I wish the logo on the side were more discrete, but it's only on one side of the housing so it isn't too obnoxious. Aside from those key differences, they are nearly identical in all other ways: - Smooth, low resistance rolling, even on a rough tile floor. - Increases chair height, my arm rests do not fit under the desk anymore. - Pivot smoothly. In Closing: Both types of castors significantly improve your sitting and rolling experience when compared to the smaller standard plastic wheels. Although I worry about longevity, you'll have a good experience with the metal framed casters. On the other hand, you'll have a GREAT experience with these plastic ones. As titled, also they roll smoothly and well on carpet. Chair user is 300+ lbs, chair around 25 lbs. no issues.

They are the best casters I have ever bought. The price is not very cheap but it is worthy. Compared to the damage that ordinary casters can cause on my expensive wooden floors, the price is good enough. There are a few small details on the casters that make it very good, which makes me think that the brand ATOMDOC really makes products. 1.Bracket: It is made from Nylon (PA) and very textured. Not difficult to see that the material is very kind, I like it very much. (In my opinion, the metal brackets or brackets of other PP materials do not reach this level.) 2. Wheels: Wheels are also one of my favorite parts because they looks good with fashion design. The wheels are soft and do not cause any damage to my ground. Quiet and very stable. The damping is also very good. 3.exterior: The overall design of the styling is intimate. The bracket is wrapped around the wheel, and hair or other things that may affect the normal operation of the wheel can be prevented. (My little princess is only 3 years old. Because the wheels shine in the sun, they attracted her. What is most surprising to me is that her little finger can't enter the casters'gap when she touched the caster. They protect my daughter's from being pinched or other accidents.) For these caster, I still need time to experience it. > I've been rolling around on these new ATOMDOC casters for just a few days now but I am truly impressed and 100% satisfied. Glad I did my research and landed on these. These upgraded bearings seem to be the real deal in comparison to other ball bearing-based wheels. So far, so smoooooth!! I'm almost tempted take the chair for a cruise around the block :P > Easy installation, rolls effortlessly over carpet & tile, super quiet, sturdy construction, made all the difference on my old Herman Miller Aeron chair. Doesn't get stuck in the grout lines in my large tiles and nothing is getting caught up inside of the wheel well or anything. > Only thing I still don't know is where these are manufactured and who the company is/where they're located. Nothing on the packaging to determine this. So, if they'd be more transparent-- and maybe lower the price a bit-- that'd blow it through the roof for me. But I'm not knocking off stars since the product seems to be quality. > Overall, so far, I am recommending these if you are looking for an upgrade on your stock office chair wheels. I'm sure I'll provide an update in a few months or so.     • Please read. Almost too good...a word of caution.
so after a few weeks of use, all is good. IO am rough on chairs. I purchased these because they have a sealed bearing in the top, where the wheel makes contact with the chair. Important, since the non sealed bearing design seems to be the main failure point for this style. Now, they are very sturdy, and so far no signs of failure in the bearings or composite frame. One note of caution...they are very smooth. Almost too smooth. On my tempered glass floor protector I have tipped forward twice. I avoided hitting my face on the desk...but be aware if you lean forward there is a risk. Also, it tends to roll back away form the desk with pressure form your feet. I wish one of the wheels had a locking feature. I hate to ding a product from being too good...but that's why I am not giving them 5 stars. ... show more

They are sturdy and silent. It was very easy to pull out the old ones, where the bearings had gone bad. These slipped right on, and in less than 5 minutes, I was back to scooting. You will not be disappointed if you like the looks; the wheels will work for you.

I replaced the "standard" plastic two-wheels per caster type that came with the chair. I expected improved smoothness and easier maneuverability, but I'm amazed at how MUCH better these are than the originals. Quiet, smooth rolling and smooth turning. I'm not sure what more someone could ask of a caster. I highly recommend. ... show more
