I just bought this cooker around Christmas this year and have only used it a few times. Had seen them at Macys for quite a bit more. Good old Amazon always has the best deal. It works very well and is attractive to boot. Polished 18/10 stainless steel. This pot is tall about 17 inches, and has plenty of room for cooking. Not sure what the bottom plate is made of, but keeps food hot even after removed from the heat source. I just place the lid on top after cooking, and stays steaming hot for some time. It has a small indicator that lets you know it is at full pressure, 15 pounds, it is from there that you start your timing of the food your cooking. Has three ways to release pressure. Can be done with the quick release position, you can run cool water over the pot, or let it cool down naturally about 10 minutes. My stove is electric, but can be used with gas or induction. Is easy to clean and comes with detailed instructions and 50 recipes to try. So far I love it. Meats come out so tender, and vegies cook in about 7 minutes.     • Pressure cooker issue resolved with Q-tip

My Zavor failed to build pressure. The Zavor releases pressure well before full pressure. The handle can be moved long after the boiling starts. I did not see any foreign object or matter in the steam release system. OK. So I twirled a Q-tip in the pressure release valve assembly. Hooray!! The cooker now develops pressure It works nicely. If you get one of these, note that the pressure release valve needs to be cleaned with a cotton tipped applicator regardless of visual inspections. Clean the steam pipe in the pot cover part of the handle and also clean inside the pressure control assembly that comes out from the handle with a small amount of back and forth in the "cleaning" position on the top of the steam control valve. Bought this along with a different product from the same brand since I was looking for a pressure cooker and a friend recommended Zavor. Figured I would try a traditional pressure cooker since that’s what my family used back in the day. As soon as I opened it I noticed this was a much more “modern” take on a pressure cooker which was reassuring (those older models can be pretty scary). Used it a couple of times and it’s been working great, not to mention it’s easy to clean since you can just pop the pot in the dishwasher (not the lid though, almost made that mistake). Are use this once a month for my Christian feeding the homeless. I cooked pulled pork, and I’ve had a similar one before but was too small so I upgraded to this version. Turn on the heat walked away came back to check on it so I can turn the heat down and there was water and meet fluid a quarter inch thick on my granite countertops and the stove. Turns out the little Yellow button doesn’t want to pop up. I didn’t know that at the time so I thought I didn’t get the gasket on right. Tried it again next month, this time watched it and noticed a little yellow button didn’t pop up. Had to tap on top of the lid several times and then it popped up, but then I noticed that the pressure relief didn’t seem to work right, had to jiggle the relief turn valve to get it to balance a little bit.     • Don’t buy this if you are looking for Fagor quality

I was so disappointed when I found that Fagor pressure cookers were no longer available. When I saw the Zavor products, with their resemblance to Fagor, I made the WRONG assumption that Zavor bought Fagor out and I would likely receive a product that would be of similar quality. I suspected something might not be right when I picked up the box with the amount of force I normally would and almost flung it into the air. This product is MUCH lighter, including the lid, than the Fagor cookers. Unfortunately, using the product confirmed my suspicions. I used it twice and the food burned across the entire bottom both times, something that has rarely happened with years of frequent use of the Fagor line. I am trying out the Fissler. It is definitely heavier. We’ll see how it goes. 11/22/21. I wasn’t thrilled with the Fissler. I have been delighted with my T-Fal Clipso 8 quart pressure cooker. I do wish that it was available in 10 or 12 quart capacity. ... show more

Great product design and quality perfect for a large family to cook meals in. the bottom of this pan is much like a frying pan so you can use this to sear your food after it's fully cooked giving a nice crispy salty flavor with a tender middle. This is much better then the lesser quality pots that don't allow frying. ... show more
