  • My new daily!
I absolutely love this pan! I mostly cook steaks in it on the daily. Sometimes eggs. I swear - this pan is King. I like stainless steel, but with the steak and eggs, it can be a little problematic with food sticking. I don’t cook at high temps because I’m in an apartment and I don’t want to set of the smoke alarm. I got some Green Pan ceramic nonstick pans which were nice for about 8 months. They got good reviews on ATK, so I made the leap. They just didn’t last. The pans held up as did the coating, but it became far less nonstick than it started out. This time I decided to try Hex Clad and let me just say, I’ve never experienced anything like this. I seasoned it with Duck fat and that’s what I usually cook with. I use an induction cooktop at about 275°. Low and slow. It works beautifully and doesn’t even try to stick. Cleans up easily. It’s a little heavier than I’m used to, but I’m adjusting. I have big-ish hands and I love the handles. Love the lids too! Nice handles on the lids too. I saw some guy on YouTube talking about how the handle is not great if your hands are greasy, but I don’t do that. They are smooth and round, so I could see where someone might have an issue. This particular pan has a second handle on the other side if that becomes an issue. The design is absolutely gorgeous. It feels substantial to cook with. A true pleasure to use. If I need more, I won’t hesitate. Worth the price, especially if you take proper care of it. I’ll get back to you in a year or so to share how it holds up. ... show more

  • My new favorite pan
I wanted to buy a new pan set and was debating between Hexclad and some others but the reviews are so inconsistent that it was hard to decide. I decided to buy this pan instead of a set since it's the one I use the most out of my current 2 sets. This. Is. My. New. Favorite. Pan. Hands down. It's nice and heavy and heats evenly. Some reviews say the handle is slippery - I havent had an issue with that and I have arthritis in my hands so I don't even have a lot of grip strength. It sears great, giving that perfect crust you'd expect from a good all-metal pan but without the mess that gets left behind. Yes, you may need some oil in the pan to prevent some things from sticking. But let's be honest - who fries eggs with no oil or butter anyway? With just a hint of oil it's non-stick. If you're a home cook looking for a great versatile pan that's easy to clean and will give you great results, but this one. You won't regret it. ... show more

  • Best pans out there!
This is my second pan from this company. Is the price high? Yes, but you get what you pay for. These pans are extremely high quality and are built to last. Those saying they are “trash” and everything sticks are not using them correctly. Never once has anything ever stuck to my pans no matter the heat. Of course there’s probably defect pans out there as is with any manufactured item. These pans should be treated similarly to a cast iron. They hold consistent heat and don’t require a high heat even when searing meat. My stove is electric and I’ve never turned the heat above a 5. They will be non stick if you coat them in a quality oil when turning on the burner. My preference is extra virgin olive oil and it doesn’t take much. I cook meals from scratch every night. These pans have yet to fail me. Absolutely love them and will never go back to anything else. I’ve cooked on everything from steel, Caphlon, Green Pan to Tfal and these make everything else look cheap. Worth every penny so take the chance if you are an avid cooker! ... show more

  • 5-star reviews get top billing. But read the 1-star reviews, too…
Size: 5.5-Quart
This is a different sort of review. I’m not qualified to rate this sauté pan because I haven’t actually used it. But I hope you’ll read on. I spent a lot of time trying to find a replacement for an 8-10 year old favorite 5.5 quart clad Tramontina sauté pan that seemed perfect in every way, but is sadly no longer made the same way. The closest (though less expensive) Tramontina pan I tried first had a handle hole that was, thoughtlessly, too small to hang on a pot rack hook without an incurring a major challenge to remove it. So back it went. Next up I ordered this Hexclad, for a lot more money than I like to spend on a non-stick with a finite life, but I was intrigued by its features, its perfect-for-me dimensions and capacity, and its 5-star reviews, though I usually read products’ 1-2 star reviews first. But by the time it arrived, I *had* read the Hexclad’s 1-star reviews and I urge you to do so as well! I always read these with an eye toward how they relate to my usage, and whether they sound legitimate or unreasonably whiny . In this case, they are very consistent in two primary areas: (1) problems with the pan’s bottom bowing, causing liquids to pool on the sides, and (2) the consistency with which people reported being blown off by Hexclad’s apparently very poor customer service attitude, one reviewer even including a lawyer’s loooong list of what is *not* covered by their “lifetime warranty”. There were far too many reviews saying the same things for them to not be considered. And when I put a small amount of water in the pan to check the flatness of the bottom, sure enough it was slightly bowed in the center! Never mind even the cost of the pan, I chose to protect myself from the frustration of dealing with “customer service” that doesn’t understand what that means. So I am, sadly, returning this beautiful pan without getting to experience it further. In its place, I finally chose a hard-anodized Calphalon Elite (a top-line made for Williams Sonoma and not available on Amazon). At 13” across with a 6 qt capacity, it’s a bit larger than I would have liked, but it *is* perfectly flat, has a 3-layer non-stick surface said to be significantly longer-lasting than that used in their other lines, and textured in a way that is said to produce a good sear; plus, it happens to have beautiful, comfortably balanced stainless steel handles. I hope (a) that this is helpful to some, and (b) that Hexclad gets the message that part of consumers’ willingness to spend more for quality is for the expected support of a proud manufacturer who stands behind it, and that the cost of poor customer service is greater than the cost of goods replaced without hassle. So consider this actually to be a 1-3 star review. ... show more

  • Expensive but worth it
These are the best non-stick pans we've owned and my husband cooks a lot. They clean up well and are still non-stick after weeks of use.
