We have only used this pressure cooker 4 times to do chicken for our gumbo's. It has once again lost pressure and the lid will not tighten properly to seal for pressure to build. We purchased a pressure cooker (Fagor) and did the same thing. Looks exactly like the Zavor and this one did the same. Not having used a pressure cooker before, I'll admit I was a little nervous starting out. I've used it three times now, twice for chicken pieces and once to make shredded beef for Mexican food, and it's performed great. 2nd use, I experienced a little of that leakage and bubbling around the handle that someone else has mentioned - a careful cleaning of the gasket, lid and area of the pot that comes in contact with the lid did the trick - problem solved. While I may graduate to a fancier model down the line, I'm really pleased with this model to date, and getting over my fear that a pressure cooker might "explode" on me! Next up will be a pork roast - really enjoying this new-to-me cooking method! ... show more
