I've gone through several different types of popcorn machine, and this one is a clear favorite for me. The stir rod is sturdy and does the job well. The top cover doubles is a popcorn bowl and it's large enough for a huge serving of popcorn. It also has an easy to remove top so you can melt butter into the popcorn as it pops. The popcorn really pops well in this as well, a very even and quick popping. I use the Amish country popcorn you can buy here on Amazon which is some of the best I've ever had and they have a huge variety as well. I recommend checking them out too. And I definitely recommend this popcorn machine, I would definitely buy this again if I needed a new one. ... show more

    • Damaged box
this was bought for a wedding gift. When received it was enclosed in another big box that was not damaged but the box inside was crushed on two corners & torn on the side of package. So it had to have been put in the shipping box with all the damage on the box before shipping! I gave it to the wedding couple hoping that the corn popper was not damaged but told them if it was I would return it. I don't like to open up a gift box before I give it & check to see if it's Ok. If I hear from them after the honey moon that the popper is damaged then what do I do to make it right?? ... show more

Easy to use and easy to store. Usually have no unpopped kernels. Easy to clean and store. Love it!

Butter melter does not melt the butter very well so we use the microwave but the popcorn comes out well with no burned kernels

Try something else. The old Stir Crazy model was awesome, but this new model is junk. Smells terrible of chemicals for a looong time... heat takes forever to get going then once it does, it cycles on/off and seems to pause the popping before it finally heats up again and again. And that was when it was working "well". A year later it's way worse and I just have a few popped pieces sitting there turning in oil forever until a few more half-heartedly pop and it all half-burns because it's hanging out on a hot, but not hot enough surface. Too bad the quality of this new model lags so far behind the older model. ... show more

It was great at first, but we just took it out to make a batch of popcorn and it didn't even get hot enough to pop a 1/3 cup of popcorn. Very disappointed.
