I like this because it is not huge and doesn't take up a lot of space. I only do smaller batches for one or two people anyways. I have used it twice already and made sun dried tomatoes one time and banana and apple chips the second time. I am very satisfied with the quality and its ease of function. It is very easy to add or subtract time, or readjust the temperature when using the four "auto" set buttons. It seems well made and looks attractive for an appliance. I like the stainless steel trays and metal (not plastic) housing. Above all it is not very loud...pretty quiet and just hear a unobtrusive fan blowing. ... show more

I received the item yesterday. Today I made sugar free teriyaki beef jerky from a 3 lb. chuck roast and a YouTube viewed recipe. It came out awesome. Love this dehydrator. It holds a 3 lb. roast perfectly. I set it at 165F for 12 hours because I wasn’t sure how long it would take. After 6 hours I checked it and it was done. Delicious teriyaki beef jerky. This machine is small but has the five shelves. The roast fit with just a little room on the bottom shelf. It is the mini version and it fits well on the kitchen counter. Very nice dehydrator. Super size capacity, fantastic temperature control and very nice timer functions, and easy cleanup too! For cleanup, if you have ever used a regular dehydrator, you know how much of a pain that can be! This model takes all that headache away. One big consideration for this dehydrator is that you NEED to put this somewhere while it is working that gets good ventilation for the bottom of the unit, because the exhaust and heater element get the bottom pretty warm, along with whatever it is sitting on. So if you set it on something to do a batch of dehydrating, better make sure that whatever surface the dehydrator is sitting on is good to get warm--even hot. I use this unit either on a stove top or on a sheet pan turned upside down for a heatsink, for my own piece of mind. Other than that, I recommend this unit if you are at all into dehydrating stuff. Way closer to professional grade than most anything you can buy over the counter. A little on the higher side for price, but you get what you pay for. Also for this unit, the recommendations pop up for the extra racks and you should buy them and you will be glad you buy the extras, because you will be wasting space if you don't use every slot! This is a great dehydrator! As a Powersports dealer rep, I was buying a lot of jerky for the road. I’m a proficient cook so I thought why not make my own jerky. This thing makes it so easy! Plenty of room for big batches, set n’ forget controls, SUPER quiet, easy to clean, nice “cookbook” included, etc. I was storing it in the pantry between uses, but we use it so much it earned a spot buy her coffee maker. The only “ding”, and it is minuscule, is I wish the display light turned off when it isn’t running. My wife now wants to start doing fruit as well. Bang for the buck: 10/10! ... show more
