Okay so this arrived and we waited all day to finally use it as a family and let me tell you, the machine worked flawlessly, no smoke, no weird plastic smell or taste. It was smooth and delicious! We popped great northern popcorn in it and then paired that with flavorcol popcorn salt and snippys popcorn oil on top and lord have mercy! It was like my childhood all over again, just delicious. The machine popped pretty quickly and in seconds had my white home smelling like a mall theater. I'm not even bothered that it doesn't keep the popcorn warm after popping as it's really good once cooled to room temperature, my only complaint is the door that extends open to get to popcorn, it's flimsy and pops in and out way to easily causing a mess if it pops out. I wish it latched in better, though I understand why it's way to easy to pop in and out. It's annoying with small kiddos who love to snack on popcorn. Little hands pull it off. It's also a bit of a pain to clean, though that's probably going to be most if not all popcorn machines soo, I'm not mad about it. Otherwise 10 out of 10 recommend this! Bought this for a birthday party, but it now sits on my kitchen counter and gets almost daily use, we love it that much! The design is cute, it is compact, it makes good popcorn in just a few minutes and is not that hard to clean. The little drawer that opens is sometimes wonky and falls off but it’s not a big problem. This is one of the best purchases I have made! I originally purchased it for a friend of mine for her and her family as a Christmas gift. I was skeptical and asked her to show me videos once they used it and if they wanted to return it they could. They LOVED it and sent me videos of the maker making popcorn and how good it looked. I got a little jealous and bought my household one as well and I do not regret it! we LOVE it and we haven't eaten this much popcorn ever! Its a fun product, cool to watch as it pops, easy to assemble and use, we paired it up by buying the Great Northern Popcorn Premium 8 Ounce Popcorn Portion Packs and it is DELICOUS!!! As much as we LOVE it! there are some parts we do not love. The cleaning is a little tedious but not too difficult but still tedious. Since the see through portion is hard plexiglass you have to be careful when disassembling the kettle from the hooks....after a few uses its starting to crack. we are now just careful. It is a little compact so reaching towards the back for popped kernels is somewhat hard to get to. Overall this is GREAT product especially for the price. so we overlook some of those tediousnesses. just wish the plexiglass would have been stronger. I have used this 2 times, 1st time a week ago, and the tilt door broke after opening it first time and when I tried to take kettle off the metal hooks that hook on to side.. one of the hooks broke. Then the second time I used it the other hook broke when trying to remove the kettle. I think I may have gotten a bad one, because it was impossible to get that removed. Now I cannot use it at all as it will not “hang”. Hoping to get a new one because we love the popcorn!!!! ... show more
