I wire wrap and wanted a decent jig to enhance my designs. This is a decent jig metal with metal pegs and little rubber stoppers for the back that helps keep the pegs where you put them. It's very sturdy.

This product is useful if you are just starting to learn to make wire wrapped jewelry. It is quite easy to use. However, it is a little difficult to keep the pegs in place while you are using them to bend the wire. The pieces themselves are very durable, but sometimes while you're bending the wire, it gets caught under the pegs and that gets a little frustrating. The pins are very loose when set into the base. The only thing securing them are the plastic tubes which are to long. The tubes are to long and should be rubber o-rings instead. The overall fixture works but it could be better if the pins fit more securely in place.

    • Better than expected!
I am very pleased with this wire jig. I’ve been trying to make a particular design freehand for a while and it never worked. Found a tutorial on YouTube using the wire jig, came out perfect the first time! I was so pleased that I made a second one, since the pegs were still in place. A couple of things about the tubes, be sure to use them. Some reviewers have complained that the pegs don’t stay in place. You need to use the tubes to hold the pegs in place and then hold them down while you bend the wire around it. Also, most of the tubes are too long so the grid does not lay flat on the table. Just cut them in half. They will still work and allow you to have the plate flat. Lastly, if you want a sharp bend, over bend your wire when going around the peg. Instead of stopping where you’d like the bend to be, bend it past that point and pull firmly. That way, it’ll retain its shape when you remove it. I am in love with my new toy and look forward to making many more projects! ... show more

I like this but it's smaller than I expected. Also it doesn't come with instructions other than showing you ways on how to put the pegs in but it doesn't show you how to use little clear plastic pieces. I figured it out, you put them behind the pegs to keep them secure on the board. You pay for what you get. ... show more
