I own several xTool lasers and decided to add the F1 to the lineup for my studio work. I have been thoroughly impressed by how well this laser works for my needs. The first big project I tackled on it was a run of customized anodized aluminum cards to create tokens for a game. The level of fidelity in the images it produced- the clean sharp lines for text, and even the incredibly detailed greyscale without using a dithering mode were really incredible and were a huge step up from attempting the same engraving on my D1 Pro while also being about 10 times faster. The framing tools were invaluable for being able to lineup the chipboard jig I made for project, being able to see exactly where the bounds were all at once made it so easy to get everything dialed in. The option to have the framing go to the exact shape of the design has also been very useful for some of the other projects I've run on it. The speed on this machine is crazy fast - it's fast enough that I haven't hesitated to incorporate customized parts into more aspects of my shipping materials like mailer boxes and envelopes as they each finish so quickly it takes so little time to make stuff a little extra cool. The air purifier is also a great addition to this device, it's really great to be able to run the machine on a table behind me in the studio and not have to stress about the smoke. All in all this is a really great device that has helped streamline and speed up a lot of the parts of my business I was using lasers for in general. ... show more

    • It's an addictive machine for beginners

I've been playing around with this ever since it arrived. Was supposed to be a Sunday delivery and it took til Tuesday night with the annoying delays. Happy with the laser. It's my first laser. The software is easy to learn, the material testing is a must for beginners, it is included in the software so don't go spending money on etsy selling material testing files. Just go to the mode you want to do and insert an array and select material testing. This way you figure out the power and speed you should run the machine to engrave or cut or score best on the material you are using. It can cut through thin 1/8th inch plywood at 4 mm/sec and 100% power. I've been cutting shapes out of amazon shipping boxes too. Possibilities are endless and watching the machine do its work is a lot of fun, especially in the score mode, because it does things fast in that mode. Buy one, teach your young ones how to use it and create things. Just one thing, Never leave the machine unattended while its working. Materials can flame up and catch fire if you have the wrong settings. I'm happy with my purchase. Now placed an order for their P2 machine as well.     • This is not the machine you saw in online videos with the camera and powerful Aluminum deep cuts.

Like several people, I saw some really cool online videos about the F1, doing amazing things with an internal camera and powerful laser. I found out, this is not that machine. That machine is called the "F1 Ultra", uses a fiber laser, I find out, and is not yet available on Amazon. This unit has marginal Aluminum engraving, with IR and no positional camera, leaving the operator to rely on a laser outlined frame for positioning. I wish I knew that before I clicked to buy this. Overall, this unit is fast, portable, and can render 4x4 photos in a few minutes, but that's a lot of cash to go from an hour to minutes. Cutting was terrible with multiple passes needed to cut 1/8 plywood. Imagine buying this and then wanting deeper cuts in Aluminum resulting in another $4k purchase. If you are running a business, wait for the better unit to come on to Amazon or just use the standard box type units with bigger beds. ... show more

The Xtool F1 provides excellent detail and the speed is unbelievable. The size is nice for taking it on the go to do a small job on-site. I have used it on leather, wood, and metal so far and the results are amazing. The XCS takes some effort to learn but not that complicated. So far I have seen Xtool continue to make regular updates to the software. I definitely recommend the F1 craft shows and for anyone looking to take their laser mobile. I've been using the XTOOLS F1 for engraving anodized aluminum, and it's fantastic. The setup was simple, and the software is incredibly user-friendly. I was able to start creating high-quality engravings right away. The hook in air purifier for in home use is fantastic. I bought an air quality monitor and no issues at all in my room. After more than 100 engravings, the performance is still top-notch. Each piece is precise, showing off the detailed work the F1 can perform.
