I own several xTool lasers and decided to add the F1 to the lineup for my studio work. I have been thoroughly impressed by how well this laser works for my needs. The first big project I tackled on it was a run of customized anodized aluminum cards to create tokens for a game. The level of fidelity in the images it produced- the clean sharp lines for text, and even the incredibly detailed greyscale without using a dithering mode were really incredible and were a huge step up from attempting the same engraving on my D1 Pro while also being about 10 times faster. The framing tools were invaluable for being able to lineup the chipboard jig I made for project, being able to see exactly where the bounds were all at once made it so easy to get everything dialed in. The option to have the framing go to the exact shape of the design has also been very useful for some of the other projects I've run on it. The speed on this machine is crazy fast - it's fast enough that I haven't hesitated to incorporate customized parts into more aspects of my shipping materials like mailer boxes and envelopes as they each finish so quickly it takes so little time to make stuff a little extra cool. The air purifier is also a great addition to this device, it's really great to be able to run the machine on a table behind me in the studio and not have to stress about the smoke. All in all this is a really great device that has helped streamline and speed up a lot of the parts of my business I was using lasers for in general. ... show more

I bought my F1 laser a month ago. I let it sit on the floor so completely overwhelmed, worrying that I may start a fire or something. I can tell you from experience that the F1 has built in safety measures to make sure that doesn't happen. It is also very portable if you are wanting to take it to craft/trade shows. The software is very user friendly. The customer support is good as well. The X-tool community in its own is amazing. So many people out there helping each other with settings or projects, couldn't have asked for a better support system. I became so enthralled with the F1 that I bought the S1, but am still waiting on shipping confirmation with that. The F1 itself is built well and performs well. I would suggest the F1 to anyone looking to buy a laser. ... show more

    • This is not the machine you saw in online videos with the camera and powerful Aluminum deep cuts.

Like several people, I saw some really cool online videos about the F1, doing amazing things with an internal camera and powerful laser. I found out, this is not that machine. That machine is called the "F1 Ultra", uses a fiber laser, I find out, and is not yet available on Amazon. This unit has marginal Aluminum engraving, with IR and no positional camera, leaving the operator to rely on a laser outlined frame for positioning. I wish I knew that before I clicked to buy this. Overall, this unit is fast, portable, and can render 4x4 photos in a few minutes, but that's a lot of cash to go from an hour to minutes. Cutting was terrible with multiple passes needed to cut 1/8 plywood. Imagine buying this and then wanting deeper cuts in Aluminum resulting in another $4k purchase. If you are running a business, wait for the better unit to come on to Amazon or just use the standard box type units with bigger beds. ... show more

it is very nice to have both blue and ir laser in one unit not having to change modules to change laser. etches stainless steel pretty good. the full kit has the air purifier which is nice. have not had a chance to use the rotary tool or the slide tool yet.

I've been using the XTOOLS F1 for engraving anodized aluminum, and it's fantastic. The setup was simple, and the software is incredibly user-friendly. I was able to start creating high-quality engravings right away. The hook in air purifier for in home use is fantastic. I bought an air quality monitor and no issues at all in my room. After more than 100 engravings, the performance is still top-notch. Each piece is precise, showing off the detailed work the F1 can perform. Its started out rocky at first with the ir laser. It was hit and miss. The blue laser was always on point. After speaking DIRECTLY AND FACE TO FACE with the most wonderful customer service Lady Ive Ever had we fixed the issues and Il moving like Speed Laser with the powerful F1 WOW. I am so happy this is what it claimed. Im happy it was my mistakes. Ty Xtool for fixing it for me 500 Stars Do not be afraid to turn up the speeds. This machine is built for the speed and clarity as well as dpi. I own z 5 watt and 40 watt diode as well as the ir head and since talking to the experts at Xtool are are doing exactly what Xtool doe.....Laser quality products with ease ... show more
