I work 8-10hr days in front of my PC, plus a little gaming. I'm short and stocky. My previous chair was a cheap no name brand that I received as a gift. It retails around $150 on amazon. After 1 yr of ownership, everything about that old chair was just negative and I won't detail here. With regards to this new chair, it's been only 1 day, but I felt compelled to write a review as I think I hit the jackpot. Pros Quiet! Hopefully it stays that way Firm and comfortable seat (for me) Hopefully holds up over time. Carpet casters roll well on my carpet Simple to put together, took 3 min. and 2 mins of that was opening the box. Cons Price, I still hate that I paid $500 for a chair but if this chair is solid in the long run, it will be worth every penny. I find the tops of the armrests swivel too much, wish they could be locked in place. Will update if this chair doesn't hold up over time. ... show more

Note: As pictured i've added larger carpet casters (not included) - I'd highly recommend these for carpeted offices to avoid having to deal with the hassle of a chair mat. I've tried over a dozen different office chairs, and only 2 or 3 have met my expectations - and this is one of them. A few features that I appreciate: - The armrests have a good range of motion for height adjustments, some chairs the minimum armrest height is too low. These ones go as low as I want, and they are easy to adjust (which I do when I switch tasks from typing to gaming) - The armrests are "free floating" so they move around as your elbows move. Some reviewers complained about this, but I actually like it. - The seat height and angle adjustment is good and easy - set it once and forget it. - The seat cushion is very comfortable - supportive and firm, but not punishing. I can sit in this chair for 12 hours and not get sore (although I wouldn't want to do that often) - The only part I'm not in love with is the back adjustment. It has 3 adjustments for how much tension on the recline function. I'd prefer the infinitely adjustable, or at least more intermediate settings. I've settled on the middle setting, but it still feels maybe 10% too firm, while the loose setting is WAY to unsupportive. Overall very happy - one of the best office chairs I've owned to date. And for the price, as far as premium office chairs go, it's a good value. ... show more

I was in the market for a new chair for some time before settling on this one. If you're looking at this, I'm guessing that, like me, you want a chair that's not cheaply made, but not top-of-the-line priced. I think this is a solid pick for that objective. The chair is incredibly easy to assemble, the seat is firm (but not hard), and it provides solid back support. The chair sits a bit lower than others I've had in the past, but as a 6'0 guy, I've had no issues—I can easily adjust to where my knees are level and still have plenty of space where the arms aren't bumping into the desk. The adjustable armrests are nice and comfortable enough, but the 4-d movement is a little annoying in my opinion (they don't lock into place—other than for height adjustments—so they have a tendency to slide around when you're working). I personally find the lumbar support comfortable and easy to adjust. But I've only had the chair for a month, so it might be too early to speak to whether it falls out like other reviewers have noted. I think the reclining settings are fine, but not great. You have the choice to be locked upright, resisted recline, or completely unrestricted. I would guess most people choose the middle option, and it's fine for what it is, but—unlike other chairs—you don't have the ability to customize how much resistance you want. You either like their settings, or you're out of luck. I'm personally satisfied with the amount of resistance it provides, but it's definitely something to be aware of if you're picky about that sort of thing. All in all, I'm happy with the chair. It might be a bit overpriced for what you're getting, but it's a safe pick for a solid office chair that (so far) feels built to last. ... show more

The assembly was not the easiest thing I have ever done, but the end result was well worth the effort. The instructions were clear, but I don't see as well and am not as dexterous as I was 50 years ago. I am very happy with the support, especially the lumbar support, and I can sit much longer without any discomfort. The seat depth lever took me longer to find than it should have, the documentation seemed to show it more in the center than it was, but all the other adjustments were fine as in the docs. The swivel on the armrests is a little looser than I would like, but as I sit in it more the armrests seem to stay more in the same position than they did so it may be just a matter of me finding the position I prefer by letting the rest find its natural landing spot. Unlike my older office chairs, reclining never feels like I might go too far back, and the upright position where the chair normally is for working is as close to ideal as I have ever had. I would say it is well worth the money. It seems well engineered and well built. The fabric seat and mesh back seem as if they would be very durable, but time will tell. The seat is very comfortable and the range of adjustments should be adequate for almost everyone. I have been retired for about 20 years, and this chair is far better than any I had when I was working. I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone. ... show more

Having this chair has improved my comfort in my home office. I purchased due to come discomfort in my lower back. Knowing lumbar support is very important is a primary reason I chose this chair specifically. It it's heavy duty construction is nice, but it is easy to adjust and roll around.
