Is this forreal? For under $40? Lol. I honestly didn't know what to expect. All I knew is that I did not want just any kind of chair. I currently have 3 office-style chairs in my house that each sit at a desk. There are also a lot of fantastic, high-end, expensive desk chairs at my job that I work from. The three chairs at my home are just ok, with only one giving an overall sense of satisfaction. The ones at my job are exclusive and really comfortable to sit in. None of them are leather by the way. I happen to not be a fan of leather chairs and couches. They tend to be bulky, rough, and not so pleasant to sit in for long periods of time. I didn't want that for my new desk space. I searched endlessly and tirelessly online for what I hoped to be a lasting chair that would provide ease, comfort, relaxation, durability, and bolstering. This chair by Furmax gets a 5/5 in every category. It took me just about 25 minutes to assemble (which is only because I'm not much of a handy tool guy). I'd say this chair takes 15 minutes tops to assemble when done precisely and correctly. The moment I sat in it, I was instantly relieved of any doubt or speculation that it wouldn't be of long-term use for me. The seat itself, which you can see in the pics, is large, plush, and incredibly comfortable to sit on! I'm pleased every time I sit in it. I wondered if the handles would be hard when I was purchasing it, but they are actually totally relaxing while being firm enough to hold and lean on. The chair's back is quality at its finest with ultimate back support. Seating adjustment with the lever is as simple and easy as it gets, and the height just right! The wheels move smoothly and easily across my hardwood floor with absolutely no means of scratching or denting it. This chair is total finesse! I wholeheartedly recommend it to you. It is the best of all my home desk chairs, and can even compete with the best of the high end office chairs at my job. For the price it is superb! Our last chair broke so I needed a cheap replacement and bought this. I wasn’t expecting it to be so durable. And for me, it’s comfortable. For reference, I’m about 5’5” and my partner is about 6’. We can both sit in it for hours without pain in our backs or legs, issues we’ve had with other chairs. The back provides good support. We added a cheap cushion to the seat, which also seems to help. I think the arms are a little constricting for partner since he’s larger but he doesn’t complain about it a lot. The chair can lean back really far without buckling or even feeling unstable. UPDATE MARCH 2024 After a lot of time with this chair, I've come to terms with the fact that ultimately, it wasn't worth it. The seat no longer stays at the height I want it to be at and it keeps sinking to it's lowest setting. The lumbar support also no longer supports. When I first got this chair, I set it so that the backrest would remain firm and not tip backward but now it does exactly that. It was nice while it lasted but certainly not long lasting. ORIGINAL REVIEW JUNE 2022 Admittedly this chair was delivered not even two hours ago, so I can't speak much about its long-term comfort or durability but here is what I can tell you about it: 1) The most effortless assembly ever! It took me about 30 minutes to put this chair together but I can't say for sure because I didn't actually time myself and my need for perfectly aligned holes may have lengthened the time significantly. I did it by myself and it was a real snap to do. 2) The plastic portions of the chair seem very sturdy and not flimsy like some office chairs I've had in the past. They seem like they will stand up to wear over time but that remains to be seen. The seat cushion is definitely comfier than I expected, it is firm and seems like it can easily snap back into shape after a long day of someone sitting in it. 3) The backrest is perfect for me, I have a bad habit of hunching forward because my previous chair had no support or cushioning but then again, I was using a wooden chair. The lower lumbar support is very nice as it keeps me from hunching over at my desk by instead, encouraging me to lean back and give my spine a break. I have the reclining knob set to its furthest capability to help with this. 4) This may not be the office chair for tall people or anyone seeking to be higher up but I find it suitable for me. At its highest position, the heels of my feet are less than an inch off the floor and I am only 5'2" tall, so I guess it will depend on what you are looking for. 5) The wheels seem like they will hold up great and while I know this is more of a pet peeve than an actual complaint about the product, I feel it is important people know that this chair DOES NOT move across low-pile carpeting very easily. If you are like me and you have wall-to-wall carpeting you may want to purchase one of those plastic floor mats or replacement wheels designed for carpeting to ensure maximum rolling capability. To me, it doesn't matter at this point because I have no real space or need to roll around in my chair except for pure amusement. 6) My only REAL complaint about this office chair is the width. I honestly didn't think to pay attention to this when purchasing. I am a decently hippy woman, as in, I have some pretty damn wide hips and this chair is a little too narrow in the seat for what I would be comfortable with. This is not to say my booty doesn't fit in the chair because it does but oh boy, I can't get much wider than I am right now, or else this chair is going to charity. I measured the shortest distance between the front of the two armrests and they are 17-1/2" apart so please take that into consideration if you are a curvy woman like me. OVERALL (TLDR), this is a great chair for the price. Easy assembly, the materials appear durable and up to the task of keeping my butt comfortable on a daily basis. The lumbar support is excellent, the height adjustment is perfect as is the recline mechanism. The only two downsides are that the wheels don't glide effortlessly across my carpet and that the armrests are just a little too close for a curvy body type. ... show more
