Description

The cherry red, square US grill pan from STAUB is ideal for roasting meat. The bottom of the pan has grooves that give the meat an attractive pattern like the grill. These grooves also have the purpose of draining excess grease. In the grill pan from STAUB you can therefore fry your meat very fat and thus low calories. It is suitable for all types of cookers, including induction. The square grill pan has a size of 26 x 26 cm. STAUB produces its pans made of cast iron, because this material is particularly suitable for searing and produces fine roasting flavours. In addition, the pan is roughly enamelled so that nothing can burn. Even beginners can therefore effortlessly make a juicy steak in such a pan. Thanks to the high quality materials, STAUB grill pans are very robust, durable and at the same time easy to clean. They also look good and are therefore also used for serving. In this practical griddle pan you can prepare juicy steaks or delicious hamburgers for yourself and your family. Whatever your palate desires, it will taste like fresh from the grill.Tips for Preventing RustNever soak the pan: Since cast iron is so vulnerable to rust, it’s best to limit your pan’s exposure to water as much as possible.Don’t let the pan air dry: Wipe off any excess water with a towel immediately after rinsing. To get your skillet bone dry, pop it on the burner to remove extra moistureLightly oil after use: Once dried, rub your skillet with a thin layer of vegetable oil before storingSeasoning: Drop a tablespoon of vegetable oil on the pan/utensil and spread it around with your fingers or a paper towel. (Take care not to burn yourself on a warm skillet!). Oil the outside and the handle, too. Next, take a folded napkin and wipe off the excess oil. You’ll want the skillet to be lightly greased. Set your oven to 350 degrees and put some aluminum foil on the bottom rack. Then pop the skillet in, upside down, on the upper rack for about 1 hour. Turn the oven off and leave the pan inside until it’s cool. The oil will bake into the pores of the pan, providing a non-stick finish

  • Nice grill with durable enamel but cleaning is a nightmare
Size: 26cm Color: Red
I was so excited to use this indoor grill after learning that this is the best indoor grill that America's Test Kitchen recommends. But to my dismay, my excitement was short-lived. The experience and mechanisms between an outdoor grill and this trying hard grill are totally different. In the outdoor grill, the grills receive the same degree of heat as the food you are cooking on it. In the indoor grill, only the raised bumps get the heat which cooks (or burns) the food. Because the raised bumps have smaller surface area, the intensity of heat is so much that it scorches the food. The valleys actually have lower temperatures than the bumps so the bumps eventually burn the food, leaving the other areas that do not have contact with the bumps uncooked. And here is the worst part: cleaning. It's hard enough to clean a flat surface. Imagine having to clean all the valleys that have burnt stuck on food. It's a total nightmare. But if anyone wants to know how to clean it, this is how it should be done. 1. Examine closely the concentration of burnt areas. 2. Pour water enough to submerge the bumps and sufficient enough to keep it submerged after 5 minutes of boiling. 3. Pour about 4 tablespoons of vinegar. 4. Heat on high to a rolling boil. 5. Using a robust tong, lightly run a stainless steel mesh cleaner, such as the Ringer, along the peaks and valleys, feeling the stuck on food you have examined earlier, all the while that the water is boiling. You will not be able to see anything because of the black soot and the dark boiling water. Don't worry about scratching it with the mesh ringer because the enamel is actually quite sturdy. Just lightly run the ringer enough to dislodge the stuck food. 6. If you feel that you have sufficiently removed the burnt food, you can turn off the heat and allow it to cool. 7. While still warm, pour the dirty water out and then brush the remaining visible soot. Repeat previous steps if necessary. I was actually very frustrated with what I ended up with that halfway through cleaning, I got to the computer and wrote this review. Happy cleaning. Not happy grilling. My advise to Staub is to stop producing this grill immediately and stick to making pots and regular pans. ... show more
