I got the tan leather & it’s gorgeous. Quality stitching & heavy. I have an genuine Herman Miller version the only difference are the casters. Btw these casters are removable my Eames version can not be removed. I couldn’t be happier.

First of all let me start by saying that the company is great! the customer support was very helpful through the process of delivery as I waited 15 days for the chair to arrive. Not the company's fault, but just FedEx delivery backlogs which is completely understood given the situation. Now the chair is quite ordinary, not very comfortable but gets the job done. Listing down some of the issues I had with this chair below - 1. The castors are plastic! Only the top castor guard 'seems' to be metal which could have easily been plastic anyway as it has no structural loads. This was the only major disappointment. 2. The armrests are cold! I was aware the armrests aren't adjustable or padded and that is fine, but since they are made of metal they get extremely cold and it becomes difficult to rest your arms on it. I saw some other reviewers say this chair includes faux leather sleeves that wrap around the armrests. I didn't get any :( I have to use this with the armrests removed 3. Cant sit cross legged. Yes! If that's your thing, forget this chair. another reason for removing armrests 4. Few inches too tall. As mentioned by other reviewers, it is indeed a few inches too tall. I'm 5'9 and my legs are at 90 degrees to the floor at the lowest setting. Wish it were at least 3 inches shorter. Otherwise the chair is built solid and if you can live with the above mentioned issues, this chair will last. ... show more

On the left is a $3,000 Eames Soft Pad Executive Chair that I think this SOHO chair was modeled on. It is 12 years old, and the leather has come apart. I had hoped to get it re-stitched, but the upholsterer I spoke with said that doesn't really work. So I decided to get this much more reasonably priced version to see if it would work as a replacement. Bottom line, it does. It's a fine $300 chair. I wanted share the photos so people could see how they compare. The Eames' leather is darker and more beautiful than the faux leathers. The Eames' arms are thinner and tapered and a little different in design. The Eames' seat is wider and the back is shorter which makes the pads a little more ergonomic for my body. I searched for a chair that would match my stylistic sensibility, while having a solid build. I think I've found it. Shipment and assembly: The package was shipped with excellent protection of the various parts. I was confident that there would be no scratches or dents based on how they covered and protected everything. All tools required for assembly are included and the process is a breeze. The only thing they seemed to skimp on was the quality of the connecting pieces for the armrests to the rest of the chair... they are essentially plastic, spray painted to look like chrome. Build quality: I was pleasantly surprised at how heavy and sturdy the build is on the chair. The chair rolls smoothly and with gravitas along my hardwood floors. It's very even and does not make any squeaking noises. The arms are a bit lower as expressed by the other reviews, but I actually like it a bit low so that even with the arms assembled, it can be tucked away underneath my desk. Style and functionality: I think this is a beautiful chair. I am so pleased everytime I look at it. The leather is nice and the color is perfect. It gives you the look of the eames style, without the exorbitant cost. But it doesn't feel like a cheaply made knock-off either. There are three settings... one that gives you the ability to rock back and forth (with locking capability), a dial that reduces how easily you can rock, and the basic seat height adjuster. I've been using it for about a week now and still really love it. If anything goes wrong... or continues to go right, I will update my review. ... show more

I spend around 8 hours a day with my desktop computer. Sometimes more than 8 hours. So I am sitting on the chair 1/3 of my day. I used to have a chair which was not necessary comfortable. So if I spend 1/3 of my daily life sitting on something, I rather sit on something comfortable. Daily bad posture and discomfort to my back can build up to have long term back pain. Buying this chair was the best decision I made and I am happy with how comfortable it is. I am not that tired after my work since my back is not hurting after long hours of working with computer. As the result, it improved my daily productivity, and I am amazed to see how much difference the chair can make. This chair makes my life easier. ... show more

The chair is exactly as advertised. It is very well made and sturdy. Could not be easier to put together. One thing that I noticed is that if you are under 5'8" your feet may not touch the ground when you sit all the way back. Personally, I like the chair without the arms attached.
