This chair exceeded my expectations and I give it five stars overall. Packaging. The box containing my chair had clearly been opened previously and poorly repacked, making me skeptical that parts might be missing or damaged. And indeed a plastic piece covering the part of the chair base where the legs attach was cracked (see photo). However, the cracked plastic piece is still functional and the rest of the chair seemed fine. Grade: C Instructions. The instructions were fairly easy to follow. Grade: A Ease of Assembly. It was a little tricky mounting the seat and chairback to the armrests, but I was able to unpack the chair parts and assemble the chair in under an hour. Grade: B Quality of Materials. The overall quality of the materials seems surprisingly high for a chair at this price (around $200), and I really like the metal legs and rollerblade-style wheels. Grade: A Quality of Construction. The overall quality of the construction is probably higher than what I would have expected for a chair at this price. Grade: A Comfort and Fit. This chair is quite comfortable. The adjustable seat height allows me to sit higher than my previous cheap office chair and the chair has nice lumbar support. The upper section of the chairback might serve as a headrest for short or medium-height people, but not for me (height 6’2”). The top of my shoulders are level with the top of the chairback, but this doesn’t really bother me. Grade: A Overall, I was annoyed with the poor packing job, but I really like the chair. Ergonomic: This chair forces me to sit up straight, which SHOULD be a good thing, and probably is. I've had some soreness in my back one day while using it. Not sure if it's due to the chair or if it's due to my body not being used to good posture. Could be either. But it's a sturdy, nice, well built, comfortable chair. Easy to assemble: For the MOST part, yes. But getting the bolts to find the slots inside the seat and back parts of the chair proved very difficult. I managed to put it together in exactly 1 hour. But there was swearing involved. The "upgraded" wheels are very nice. Smooooth rolling and silent. They roll so easily that it will keep going more than you expect when you push away from your desk. I might push out of my desk and find myself down the block if there weren't walls in the way. One note is that this chair is on the high side. I should have checked the measurements first, but it is actually too high for my current desk setup, meaning I'm reaching down for my keyboard and mouse, which is not good ergonomics. But that's not their fault, just make sure you know how high it is and if that works for your situation. I have several ideas how to raise my desk to make it work. ... show more

This chair is very comfortable. The seat is squishy and feels good, but is also firm enough where my legs don't get cramped after sitting for hours. The back has good support and is also comfy. The arms have a good amount of padding, not super hard leaving my elbows sore, but not super squishy leaving my elbows to move around too much. The wheels are big like rollerblade wheels and I can actually roll around on my carpet that is pretty shaggy. My last chair had those small casters and literally would not roll around at all. This chair fits all my needs perfectly and looks really good as well. The only negative was assembling the arms to the chair back and bottom. The fabric got in the way of the screws and it was hard to hold the back in place while assembling it. It was a mild hassle for me, but it is possible that some people might not be able to assemble the chair without help, or maybe not at all. ... show more

I needed a comfortable desk chair with flip up arms so I could use it to play guitar. This chair is pretty comfortable, but firmer than I expected. The arms don't seem to have much padding in them, and I'm worried about them bottoming out in a few months. The chair is also held together at the sides by two L shaped plastic pieces that the arms attach to. It's concerning that this chair is held together by two pieces of plastic. The chair also creaks near the base when I lean back or forward. I'm pretty satisfied with the chair right now since it meets my needs, but I'm concerned about the long term durability. ... show more

It really is one of the most comfortable chairs, and it was VERY easy to assemble if you READ the instructions! I had no trouble assembling this on my own (in less than 30 minutes) except I needed help lugging the 40+pound box upstairs. The color of the chair (black) is very nice and perfect for my decor. As for the comfort, I don't think I've ever sat in an office chair that is this comfortable. If you like more support, you simply grasp the tab that is situated in the back part of the seat, and adjust the lumbar support which has 4 different settings. As for the quality of the fabric (fake leather), I don't see a single crinkle or tear. I'm guessing this chair will hold up for many years to come.
