As someone who spends most evenings and weekends working on DIY projects at my desk, having a supportive office chair with smooth mobility is a must. The stock plastic wheels that came with my chair were prone to cracking and dragging across my hardwood floors and bad on carpet. I decided to try replacing them with this set of 5 clear rollerblade-style casters from Office Owl. The easy pop-on installation took less than 10 minutes thanks to the universal stem mount design that fits most office chairs. Right away I noticed a huge improvement in how freely my chair glides across the floor without catching or requiring as much push force. The thickness and durability of the polyurethane wheels feels far superior to the thin plastic I had before. I’m also pleased with how subtle the clear casters look, seamlessly blending in with my chair base without being an eyesore. The quietness of the roll is remarkable, no more squeaking or rumbling sounds when I move now! After a few weeks of heavy use, the wheels show minimal visible wear and continue to provide consistent smooth mobility. My only small nitpick is that these casters are slightly taller than my original wheels, raising my seated height about an inch higher. But it’s easy enough to adjust the chair height to compensate. I flat out love these wheels. They are silent plus they roll and turn easily. I'm disabled and like to play PC games, unfortunately for most of the games I play any laptop that is capable of playing them with decent graphics is far outside my price range. So I welded up a stand for my desktop gaming PC to hold the PC. Part of it rolls under my adjustable bed, the rest rises up and an arm extends out to hold my dual monitor setup, keyboard, gaming keypad and mouse where I can easily use the PC while laying in bed. The stand came out great and works really good, the only issue was that I built by cleaning up some rusty scrap square tubing I had on hand and using some quite old office chair wheels for it, with 3D printed inserts to hold and support the pin of the wheel in the tubing (I also printed some end cap plugs to neaten up/conceal the tubing's cut ends). These wheels work so much better and allowed me to easily swap out the cheap old plastic wheels that wouldn't turn or roll very easily for these much nicer wheels without having to modify or change anything about the PC stand. I bought these wheels to replace the plastic wheels my office chair came with. My previous wheels would get caught on the carpet in my room, making it difficult and frustrating to move around. These wheels move effortlessly across the carpet in my room and are very easy to install. It would help to have someone strong uninstall your old wheels and replace them with these (I had to use a hammer to install these lol). 4 stars: Decent casters, with strong customer support. Might buy again. (updated review) As noted below, the original set I received was poor (see below for details). However, eventually the vendor sent me a new set. Several people wrote to me and all were very gracious. (And this was after I had returned the first set to Amazon and received my refund.) I installed the new set tonight and they are much better than the first five I tried: there's no noise, they rotate easily, and the only problem is that they are "sticky", i.e. they don't roll smoothly over hard wood. All in all, these end up being a decent set, especially considering the price. The company stands by their product, which is great and rare these days. And for that alone, I'm tempted to give it 5 stars. Unfortunately, the wheels still don't "glide" across the floor, as the previous brand I used did. ----- Original Review ----- 3 stars: I have returned my set and I recommend against trying this brand. As soon as I installed these, they were squeaky and kept getting stuck. The wheels didn't roll smoothly, and the casters didn't spin properly either. I tried adding some lube, which helped. But even after using for a day, they still weren't as good as the old blades they replaced. A note inside the box offered 100% satisfaction: "we'll get back to you within 12-24 hours for a full refund." Instead, all their Support could suggest was re-installing (something I had already done) and hoping for the best. Had I simply contacted Amazon first, instead of respecting the vendor's request to start with The Office Owl support, I would have already received a replacement set and found out if I was unlucky or not. Instead, I feel that I wasted time contacting them (again, based on the note in the box offering 100% satisfaction).
