  • Pressure Cooker 6qt

It was time to replace my 1960's Mirror pressure cooker and this 6qt new Mirror seems to do the job, only used it once since purchasing, but it worked well.

Simple !!✌🏼 ... show more

  • 6 Quart pressure cooker mirror aluminum
Size: 6-Quart
If you have a glass top I would not buy this model Amazon says the following in the description 15 lb. pressure control. Removable self sealing gasket. Safety fuse. Heatproof handles with reminder ring. Strong aluminum alloy. Rack and instruction booklet. Not recommended for canning. It does not have a rack in mine, it does not have a 15 pound control, it is 10 pound by the instructions. Amazon says nothing about cooking on a glass top, instruction Book says not to use on glass top stoves because the bottom has a concave in the middle that won't allow it to get up to pressure, Well I have a glass top and not wanting to send it back I tried it, came to a boil faster than a old (20 or more years)I own, Put the lid on and it locked fairly quick, maybe 5 minutes? steam started coming out of the top, I waited about 2 minutes and put the weight on, maybe 6 to 8 minutes it was bounceing like it should, so much for not coming up to pressure on a glass top stove. The finish is super polished, Looks like stainless steel not aluminum. add photo does not do it justice. After the test and using it once I found another DO NOT USE ON GLASS TOP, so I sent a E mail to consumeraffairs@wearever.com today here is what I asked model 92160 6 quart cooker Bought it on line at Amazon.com the descripttion on their web site didn't say any thing about a glass top stove. in the instructions saw that it might not come up to pressure on a glass top which I have, I tested it with just water to see and it came up to pressure really fast, twice as fast as my old mirror 4 quart flat bottom pressure cooker I have. so I cooked a resipe of rice pudding in the book and it did what it was suppossed to do, came up to pressure fast and cooked just like the book instructions time setting. Then I was rereading the instruction book some more and I came accross this Got it and in the page 2 of instructions and it says do not use on flat glass top or glass ceramic ranges could damage cooker, this cooker has a curved concave bottom which will not make proper contact with the cooking surface which could result in damage to your pressure cooker. what do they mean damage, is it going to blow up or what. I can't understand why it would be any diffront than a electric coil wire stove top, it wouldn't contact the bottom any more than My glass top, in fact less ,,according to you to get proper contact you would have to use a gas stove only. Is it safe to use on my glass top? 2-19-09 well its 5 years later and still hasn't blown up, use it every few months cooking beans mostly ... show more

  • Replaces a 1950 mirro pressure cooker!
Size: 6-Quart
Not as well made as the ‘50 version but not bad ! I ordered the 6 quart not for canning but for least er grades on beef. I like & feel comfortable with pressure cooking. So much time saved from hours on the stove top & slow cooker . I made tender beef stew in about 45 minutes.

  • Quality components
Size: 8-Quart
We’ve only used it twice so far but it has worked without any issues. Lid is easy to align and close and once cooking is complete and pot cools the lid removes easily.

  • Mirro 8qt. pressure cooker.
Size: 8-Quart
Mirro has always been a favorite. This is my second 8qt. Mirro pressure cooker. I wanted to up-grade to the more "modern" model. I ordered it from AMAZON directly. It came securely double-boxed and IN PERFECT SHAPE. I do a lot of ordering directly from AMAZON and have NEVER been let down. Everything is always well packaged, on time, and, in prefect shape. The cooker; The "rattler" is limited to 10psi. which is MORE then sufficient for any application. An added metal screen, to cover the underside of the pressure release tube, is a very good added safty idea. The new "over pressure valve" is a far cry from the old rubber plug that would have to, occasionally, be replaced for assured safe and proper operation. This new valve is an actual, permanent, metal, "valve" that lifts and opens in case of over presure. If the cooker is used "PROPERLY" it will never be needed but it is a great peace-of-mind feature. After all; accident DO happen. The cover-lock works MUCH better then the old system. It's all self contaned and doesn't require any manual assistance to function. I believe that a build up of water would keep the old lock from dropping into place...NOT with this new model. The lid also has a new safty feature; A section of the locking lugs is designed to let the basket blow-out to release pressure. The new gasket seems to be made of a silicone that is MUCH more resilient then the old black, rubber, gasket. The one difference that I don't really care for is that the "pan" is narrower then the old style. Also, a new bottom rack IS NOT PROVIDED with this new cooker. But these differences are, basically, inconsequential compaired to the added safty and ease of operation. I use my MIRRO 8qt. PRESSUER COOKER almost every week. It's easier, faster, and, more flavorful then a long, drying-out in the oven. If used properly it's very easy to clean...You'll NEVER have to scrape burned food from the pan. You can safely set aside any reservations, about using a pressure cooker, you may have had. Follow the directions and you can use it with confidence. ... show more
