It's a great little tool to help seal bags without looking for a closure tool (pin, rubber band, etc), another container to store in, or learning a clever baggie fold. :-) There is a slight learning curve for the speed in moving the device while trying to seal, for the thickness of the bag you're sealing. I've resealed chip bags (plastic and metallic looking), plastic frozen veg bags, and plastic pantry item bags (popcorn). You need to make sure the area you're sealing is fairly dry and not too full of crumbs. The thicker the bag, the slower you need to go. BUT if you go too slow, you might end up burning through the bag instead of sealing it. (I did a few times). Once you get this down, it's a cute, handy little device to have around. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the magnet is not strong enough. It held fine the first 2-3 tims I put it on my fridge side (not the door as that moves too much), but started sliding down after that. I still keep it on my fridge, but above a magnetic pen/post-it holder so it stays within reach. ... show more

We had a very important package to send and wanted to get it sealed so there would be no worries about water getting inside in case of rain and/or mishandling by the shipping company. We decided to buy this product and you get what you pay for. The item comes with a magnet for the fridge, but it is not a strong one. It slides down all the time. There is a small cutter in it, which it was a plus. The sealing part is easy to use and it does its job, but it is also very easy to cut a hole in the process. Overall we are happy with it because it does the job if you are careful while using it and there is not much we need it for. But for those looking for serious usage out of a sealer, I would not recommend this. ... show more

So happy with this it takes up very little space. Actually it is magnetic and I hang it on my fridge. Actually works well. If you were going to do a bunch of big bags might not be for you, but I just do an occasional package and it’s amazing.

It absolutely does what it promises, easily and quickly. It even comes with a little protector, to prevent accidental activation, when not in use. However, for peace of mind, I just take the batteries out before putting it back in the drawer.

This does not heat up high enough to seal anything. I couldn’t get a chip bag to seal let alone my mylar bag. You have to hold it in one spot a very long time just to get it to heat up and if you slide it forget about it, it’s not going to seal.

We were not thrilled that instructions were NOT in English (bought in USA, so seller loses half star), or that enclosed batteries were DOA (another half star lost) but our rechargeable batteries do work. Still, it is a clever gadget, pictures were quite helpful, and it does truly do a good job sealing. As others noted, 1) the battery cover must be slipped back a millimeter or so to expose the heating element. That's not necessarily a design flaw. You wouldn't want the sealer to heat up and engage when not intended to be used. 2) There is a faint odor of heated plastic that quickly dissipates 3) the device not only seals bag, but also cuts (via heating element) excess bag. It takes a few tries to get comfortable with the sealer, but totally worth it. ... show more
