  • Tilting or rocking depends on assembly
Color: Ivory White Style: Modern
If you're unable to recline or rock the chair at all or if you want the chair to stay completely upright and not rock, make sure to double check which side and position the adjustment handle and the tension controller is in/on and adjust accordingly to your needs! Depending on the side the adjustment handle is on and the position of the tension controller, your chair will function differently in regards to the reclining and rocking feature. If you want the chair to be able to rock and recline, assemble it so the adjustment handle is on the right side and the tension controller is on the front end of the seat. If you want the chair to be completely upright and not rock at all, assemble it the opposite way (the handle being on the left and the controller being on the back of the seat.) If you assemble your chair to be able to tilt and recline and you want to keep it in a particular position, you need to use the adjustment handle to lock it into place or unlock it if it needs to be adjusted. You pull the adjustment handle out to unlock it, and push the adjustment handle in to lock it in place. The assembly instructions booklet that my chair came with only provided one way to assemble the chair, but depending on the way you assemble it you will be unable to change the reclining or tilting or rocking due to the direction the tension controller is facing. I assembled the chair the way the booklet instructed me to and I was unable to recline/tilt/rock the chair due to the fact the tension controller was on the back of the seat, only allowing the chair to move forwards instead of backwards. I had to deconstruct the part where the chair connects to the base and turn it so that the tension controller was on the front end of the seat instead of the back, and the adjustment handle was on the right side instead of the left, and after I did that I was able to recline and adjust the chair to fit my needs. I would also like to note that the arm rests are only able to flip in an upwards or a horizontal position, so they don't suit me and I usually don't use them because they don't move to the left or right at all nor can you slide them to be positioned further forwards or backwards. The placement of them doesn't fit where my arms and elbows would rest, so I don't have much use for them and keep the arm rests up most of the time. If the armrests are important to you, I highly recommend checking to see if they'd be in a preferable position for you and if they'd fit your needs. Other than that, the chair is suiting me great so far and I'm super happy with it! I recommend looking at other reviews to be sure this chair will suit your needs as it may not work for everyone and may not be suited for some uses. ... show more

  • Great chair, but not for the way I sit
Color: Jasmine Style: Modern
I've been sitting in this chair 12 hours a day for a month now, and I finally feel like I can write an honest review about it. The chair was packaged very well, and was one of the easiest chair constructions I've experienced over the years. The tools were great quality and I was able to construct it alone with no issues. Visually, the chair looks nice. The colors pop, and it doesn't have a "cheap" look to it, despite its plastic and mesh design. When first sitting in the chair, it's comfortable. The seat cushion is slightly firm, but soft enough where I don't feel too much fatigue using it, especially during those long sitting sessions. The mesh seat back is nice, and I don't feel the pressure of the back's frame on my shoulder blades. The headrest is a nice touch, as it has a slight give to it, making it comfortable to lean into. After a few weeks, however, I'm noticing I've had some lower back strain/problems which I didn't have in my previous chair. So I'm not very comfortable anymore. It's also affecting my sleeping positions, making it difficult to get comfortable and fall asleep quickly. A majority of my sitting time is spent cross-legged with my back pressed firmly against the backrest to keep my spine aligned, and doing so on this chair, I think, is partly causing the problem. Because of the discomfort, I'm constantly changing my sitting position between "proper", leaned back, cross-legged, and leaned forward. With my old chair, I could sit cross-legged the entire time with my back pressed against the backrest the entire workday and not have any issues. There's an adjustable lower backrest, but it has some issues. For one, it doesn't stay in the position you keep it in, and you'll need to readjust it if you squirm around in the chair or get up and leave for a while (it will fall back into its lowest position on its own). Even keeping the back rest adjusted, I still can't find a comfortable position for long sitting sessions. Also, there are plastic covers for the joint screws on the swivel arms. These pop out constantly, falling to the ground. There's nothing to lock them into place aside from light tension. I've hammered them on with my hands, but it only lasts for a day or so before falling off again. I've resorted to taping them on. For its price, it may not be a terrible purchase, especially if you're not planning on sitting for actual office-length work day in and day out. However, I'll likely be looking for another chair. In the meantime, I'm trying to switch to an orthopedic seat pillow and added armrest cushions to increase the longevity of it, but I don't like that I have to resort to these measures on a chair 1 month old. We'll see if the cushions help the lower back pain. Overall, it's not a terrible chair. You can do much worse, especially for the price. But for anyone looking for something comfortable for long sitting hours, I don't believe this will be your chair. ... show more

  • Enjoying this chair - Forget getting a gaming chair, get this instead.
Color: Carrot Orange Style: Modern
I've had an AKRacing gaming chair (I think its one of the Pros, so its massive and heavy) for almost 6 or 7 years now. I thought it was comfortable but over time it stopped being comfortable. It was bulky, massive and was causing back pain. I just got this chair and I'm already impressed. Follow the instructions and you will not have any issues. They also give you extra screws if needed. From opening the box to putting it together, I was sitting in it around the 30 minute mark. I could have gone faster but I take my time with things. I'm 295 lbs and 6 foot. (133 - 134kg / 182 - 183cm) and I find it to be very comfortable. Play with the settings a bit to lock in that comfort. The base is metal so no cheap plastic worries here. The casters work for my use case but if you're worried about them, there are several replacements that would do the chair justice. Highly recommend. EDIT 9/6/2023 After sitting in this chair for a few sessions I can make some more comments about the chair: IF you're use to "4D" adjustable arm rests, you may have to get use to these arm rests. If you're use to your chair back being adjustable in a recline motion, this chair is not for you. I actually enjoy this chair but I went back to using my old AKRACING chair for my gaming setup. This chair is now being utilized for my work space downstairs that I needed a chair for anyway. Also, if you're use to a wider chair base you may find this a bit of a adjustment. ... show more
