I was in need of a good, solid task chair that swiveled, as well as being able to fit into a relatively small space, because my sewing/crafting area is in a little alcove in our family room. The thought of an ugly office or sewing chair in my favorite space next to the fireplace was just not making me happy, but the antique wooden chair I was using was not working for me or my aching back. I chose this one because it a) fit the space; b) looked like it provided enough support and cushioning for long hours of sewing, c) swiveled, and d) fit in with my collection of vintage IKEA furniture and shelving (bonus!). The package arrived much sooner than promised and it went together in about 5 minutes. Its simplicity is the genius that makes this chair so great. The swivel is simply a steel post that swivels within a hole made to fit. Despite all that, I was unsure when we first assembled it that it would work out because it looks rather small at first glance - I’m around 5’8”, so I was afraid I’d be too tall or that my legs wouldn’t fit under the table. Much to my surprise (and delight), it fits my body perfectly, and is incredibly easy to swivel around and get up. This was important to me because I frequently get up from the chair to iron a piece of fabric, then return to the chair to sew it in place. Up, down, swivel….rinse, repeat….over and over again. I’m 61 years old and it’s very easy to use this chair in the way I intended to use it, with no pain or fatigue. The fabric is both sturdy and lovely; a soft, sage green that the photos don’t do justice to. The back surround is comfortable, the chair is deep enough to prevent leg or lower back pain, and the solid wood legs give it the perfect eclectic look that completes the space. Really like this chair and soft, medium green colour is very nice. Although I had no issues putting it together, I could see why others may believe it's impossible because you really have to push the legs from correct angle to get them to fit the base (should maybe be stated in the instructions). I had no issue, but I can see some thinking it's too hard or that it's not made correctly. Great desk chair that swivels too! ... show more

Just the right size for my small bedroom. Very easy to assemble for one person. It swivels smoothly and is comfy for reading or using small laptop. I'm 5'4" and the size is perfect for me. I'm very happy with the grey color and fabric.

I love my new chair! Couldn't be happier with my choice. The quality of this chair is exceptional, especially the solid wood legs. Really nice little chair. The fabric is great; pictures do not do it justice! I already want another to match this one. I can very highly recommend this chair. The printed instructions were helpful. The bottom of each leg has an attached chair leg protector. Once the 4-leg base is prepared, you simply set the chair seat on the silver metal portion at the top of the base. The swivel isn't mechanical; it is simply the chair seat rotating on that silver metal portion. Such simplicity! I looked at many different chairs of this type, in this price range. I am VERY glad I settled on this particular chair from GrandNoor. The price point is good. The design of the chair itself is modern and retro at the same time. The 4 solid wood legs are of nice thickness and shape. It took less than 10 minutes to put it all together and take it for a spin! ... show more
