I've had the expensive "national" brand and this economy brand. There is virtually no difference except to get to save $50+ more money in your pocket. This unit works as well and uses generic brand bags (cut to size or custom sizes). I've had it for several months and used it multiple times with any issues at all. Equipment worked great for a few months. Now, after the first cycle the heat strip never shuts off. Between cycles I now have to unplug the unit and and plug it right back in. Immediately after the unplug/replug cycle it will work for one package normally but in order to vacuum the next one I have to unplug/replug the unit. DISAPPOINTED ... show more

Whew! I thought I was going to have to send it back for a minute, because I absolutely couldn’t get it to vacuum all the air and seal, and then I realized the problem was me. Make sure BOTH sides lock with a clicking sound! After I figured that out, it sucked out the air like lightning. I just hope it works for the full size bags!!! ... show more
