I have arthritis in my butt, yeah that's a thing. My sacrum has arthritis. Anyways, thought I'd try and kneeling chair to see if it would help relieve some pressure off my sacrum when I sit. Unfortunately it didn't help with my butt arthritis, "but" I do like the chair. It's sturdy for my weight, 93 lbs, and comfortable to sit in. Your shins will have to get used to it. My shins were hurting during the first week I had it but they don't hurt anymore. I used a pillow to help with the discomfort on the shins at first, but now I don't need the pillow for my shins anymore. I still use a pillow sometimes because I'm very petite and I don't quite fit in the chair. I'm only 5'2 at 93 lbs... So yeah, petite. I usually sit with my butt halfway forward on the top part so that my knees can be comfortable on the bottom part. When I sit back more I will put the pillow on the bottom part so my knees reach better. You can also have your feet on the bottom part to sit in a more squatted position if you want. I do sit like that sometimes. My back never hurts from sitting on this chair, but I am also used to sitting up properly with good posture most of the time. I suppose if you're someone who's slouches a lot, you will have to get used to sitting up properly, as this chair will force you to sit up properly as long as you are not leaning forward on your desk. If you're a sloucher, -maybe- your back might be hurting when you first use this chair. I'm not sure. I read in a few reviews that person's backs were hurting and I can see that happening if they're not used to sitting up with good posture. I've had this chair over a month now and I love you using it. I use it more than the office mesh chair that I just got too. I love my other chair too, but I tend to use this one more. It's easier for me to get in and out of with my butt arthritis lol. ... show more

Overall I really enjoyed this product however the lower pad for your shins needs some type of crash pad material because I'm developing trigger points on my shins. It forces me to step to the side every so often which is either good or bad thing depending on how you look at it. I can use it for hours on end except for the lower pad. ... show more

I know that this entire concept looks weird and my friends thought I was crazy for buying this, but I absolutely love this chair. It is so comfy to sit in and it oddly does make you sit straight and helps my back problems. You do “break in” to the cushions but it is kinda comfy with it like that. Also I am a huge chair rocker so having the rocking feature is great, but don’t rock it too far back… you will tumble down so fast! ... show more

I bought this chair due to back and hip pain that wouldn't go away. It took about 2 weeks for my body to adjust to the chair. I found the knee cushion is not soft enough and had to use a folded blanket on top of it for extra cushioning. My shins and knees often hurt from it, but it has gotten better over time. I think the ability to adjust this chair was really important. I wouldn't buy one that cannot adjust. The small adjustments on this chair make a huge difference. I do use the chair backwards as well and my back and hips have been fine with it. I still hunch over a lot in the chair, so I wouldn't recommend it if you are buying it to fix your posture. One thing I think is really important is that I have a sitting-standing desk so I am able to adjust the height of my desk. I have to sit with the desk several inches higher than when I used my office chair. I'm not sure this is a good option if you cannot adjust your desk height. I mostly love this kneeling chair. I’m 5’9 but found the small setting to be best for my body. Pretty cool you can adjust that. When using it I feel my back is forced to be straight, which is awesome, especially when paired with a monitor setup at the right height. However some of my friends didn’t like using it as it’s a little tiring to be in good posture for an extended period, so maybe not for everybody. The one thing I don’t like is that if I move my butt, the chair wiggles from side to side. There is not enough support so the wood flexes. Usually not a big deal as I’m not moving that much while seated, but less chair movement would definitely make me feel a little more grounded. ... show more

I like this chair - it's much better for my back than a normal office chair. It is also very easy to assemble. However, a couple of things to note: 1. It takes a while to get used to. My knees and shins hurt so much the first week, but now I never notice. Definitely an adjustment period. 2. I REALLY wish the padding was a bit more supportive and soft.
