I love how this pan simmers I know that is weird but its hard to find at least for me. Its a great size for cooking long simmering sauces and small batch bread baking. The color is very interesting and that is why I chose it. Its a grey lavendery color very different from the bright colors I own. I have several of these pans and love them all. They are the easiest pans to wash after cooking and always cooks evenly. If you know the brand you know. Being a cast iron pot, this sauce pan is highly efficient in dissipating and retaining heat. This is the larger of the two sizes (1.75 vs 2.25 qts). Overall, 2.25-quart size may appear small compared to sizes offered in the dutch oven category. However, this pan is rather large bring able to hold decent amounts of liquids. The lid is 18 cm in diameter which is about 7 inches. The picture shows its size compared to a 9-inch skillet in the background. Any larger and this pan would become more difficult to handle due to its heavy weight. The lid sits squarely on the rim without any discernible space in between which makes for a good seal. Once its heated to a point enough to boil water, the pan remains warm for further 3 hours. The bottom is also flat to a point of being able to sit on the heating surface with no rocking movement. As with other types of enameled cast iron items from this manufacturer, the inner surface is easy to clean with just soap and water. Love this brand ! Great pot. My issue is in the color discription it looks pale pink which is what I wanted but it is not pink at all. It is more like a grayish/lavender.. it’s one of those colors that depending on the lightit is in looks differently still a neat pretty color so I decided to keep it even though I wanted pink.
