The length was just right for me, it leaves me with enough room to move my head in streamline. Other boards from TYR etc are too long and get in the way of head movement for me. The buoyancy is plenty for me. The surface is grippy even when wet.

I use the board to kick laps during my swim sets at the gym and the grips allow me to change my upper body positions. I wish it were denser as I can push it far down under the water when catching breath but for the price point, you can't beat it's design and usefulness.
