    • Good Small Practice Mat
My favorite feature of this practice mat is that it simulates both short grass for fairways and long grass for rough. You can hit balls right off the surface, or you can insert one of two different height rubbery tees to elevate or stabilize the ball. You can also use a regular tee to tee-up a ball--the set comes with a few--though tall tees are not as steady as short tees and it is not the same as teeing up in natural grass. But this is a great mat to use with a net for practicing in the garage or back yard. The mat folds in half for storage, and the heavy base keeps it in place when practicing, though it can slide some on a smooth concrete floor.     • It's Portable!
There are only two things that could be better about this hitting mat: 1. The short grass leaves green plastic residue stuck to the bottom of my golf clubs after a few swings. It cleans off easily with a wet towel, but I've used a few mats that didn't leave any residue even after several swings. 2. There is a slight crown in the rubber through the middle of the hitting area on each side that allows for about 1/4" flex up and down if pushed or if a club is resting on it and certainly while swinging through with an iron. It leaves much of the grippy surface underneath not making contact with the floor. Aside from these two things the mat is great. The tall grass has allowed me to perfect my flop shot with only a couple of weeks of practice and is a great simulator of heavy rough if swinging against the grain. There is much more grip on the bottom surface of this mat compared to others I have used and the rubber tees that accompany it are great. An additional bonus is the that cutouts that are used as carrying handles when folded double as golf ball holders when its laying in the flast position. This is an awesome feature!     • Solid, a Little Expensive for What it is
Overall, I'm pleased with this. It's heavy, feels durable, and the grass lengths are both what I was hoping for. I feel like there's enough cushion that I can use it indoors on a hardwood floor and chip a bit without risking damaging the floor underneath at all. The long turf is a little grabby for its blade width and length, but it's fine. Pricewise, this is relatively consistent with pricing for other similar items on Amazon and I imagine is probably one of if not the best option at its price point after a quick comparison to other option. Based on what it is, I feel like it should be less that the $43 at time of writing, but with the accessories they include others may feel differently. ... show more

practice your game for most conditions. I like to recreate my game by hitting where I am on the course. This of course is the high grass off the fairway, haha. Just like practicing on the nicer ranges. I have it in the backyard and have really been able to work on my swing and not deal with the HUGE divets I leave on the course. ... show more

    • Decent artificial turf golf practice mat, but a tad pricey
Wasn't expecting much, but this mat is pretty functional. I used it to hit wedges in my back yard and it worked well, providing a realistic surface to hit irons off of. Seems pretty sturdy and has a rugged rubber backing. While it's a tad small, it is large enough to give you room for your ball and club. I can't speak to how the grass will hold up over repeated use yet. All in all, a handy way to practice hitting real balls and save your back yard grass from making lots of nasty divots. Seems a bit pricey though, at $43 minus a 5% coupon. Took a star off for that. ... show more

I’m trying to teach my young son how to golf and This hitting Mat is perfect. It has two different types of turf for him to work on: Sort of a rough lawn and also a fairway lawn… It folds up easily and it’s very easy to clean. I highly recommend this.

    • Works well but my golf game still stinks!
This mat is good for practice. It is smaller than I thought from the pictures so look at the measurement closely. I am only using the pitching section so far but I ordered a net to try driving. Comes with rubber tees and tees.
