This is hands down the best bracket you can buy! No tools are required at all to assemble and install! If you have a weak window frame or weak windows, this bracket is what you need. If you fear dropping a $500 air conditioner out of your window when installing it, this bracket will make life way easier. I installed an 80-pound AC unit on my second floor by myself without any worries of dropping it. The bracket is made of sturdy powder coated steel with good welds on the joints. Lots of adjustability, probably more than you need. There are also nice semi soft rubber feet to add stability and protect the outside wall of your home. The bracket has many adjustments. You can easily adjust for the 1/4-inch downward angle needed for drainage using a bubble level and tape measure or ruler. Totally worth the money! ... show more

For years we’ve struggled to support our AC on the second floor of our condo. We usually end up balancing it on the tiny ledge of our vinyl window, using a bunch of foam insulation, little nut clips to keep the window down secure (which chews up the vinyl window frame) and white duct tape to make it more secure. We hate the task of getting it set up and taken out each summer. I read the reviews and thought I’d give it a try. I was worried that the support arms wouldn’t fit into the window channel, but found a photo review showing the arms on the inside of the frame, not in the windows sliding channel. The arms width measure just over 3/4 inch, (they’re 13/16 of an inch) which made them slightly too wide for the channel on our windows, which are 3/4” exactly. No sweat! I secured it on the inside of the window frame, as you can see in the pictures. I ended up needing the support legs almost all the way in, 5 slots from the smallest. The hardest part was having to squeeze the pins a million times to slide the brackets to their desired location. If that’s the biggest gripe for this then it’s pretty dang minor, as you don’t need any tools and don’t need to drill into anything. I hated our vinyl windows because of the AC unit issue, but from now on I’ll relish in the ease of setting this up. I haven’t actually put the AC on the support yet (way too early for that in Vermont), but after installing the bracket and pushing a lot of weight on it, I’m 100% positive this will work!     • Works well, but weaker vinyl windows are a concern.
Bracket fit well in my vinyl window frame, creating a flat platform instead of one with a channel so you have to deal with securing the bottom of your AC unit somehow. I drilled a couple screws that the holes on the bottom of the AC fit onto securing it from sliding, which it will with this type of bracket. I did end up sinking a few Lag bolts into the window frame once installed by drilling through it it (easy(). There was too much flex in the window when I put weight on it to trust completely without doing this. So anyway, it feels solid and hopefully won't rust out like so many others have talked about. The legs barely reached the wall as our windows are so close to the edge, but bending the feet gave it the perfect angle and I tightened them up so they don't move. Looks pretty good from the outside and hoping to save a little money not cooling the whole house at night. Directions were fine, again easy. Tried other brackets, this was the only one that actually worked without having to alter the window frame in any way. ... show more

    • Great Product, easy to use, Renter friendly
Our landlord had recently put in new windows in the house we are renting (great!) We have a rather LARGE window AC unity since we do not have air conditioning in the house. Our AC was able to rest perfectly in our old wooden windows np; however, after these new plastic trim windows were put in, our AC could no longer rest along the bottom of the window with a plastic part that was now there sticking up. We couldn't use screw-in AC supports due to the whole window-sil being plastic and we are renters. Thankfully this product was a blessing to us! Extremely easy to set up, the bar rests in front of the annoying plastic bump that sticks up in our windows and holds up our extremely big AC unit with no problems and no slipping! The price is abit steep, but was totally worth it! No more suffering 90 degree heat upstairs YAY! ... show more

    • Expensive but worth it
I live in a manufactured home with window casings that are unlike traditionally built houses, so getting a window airconditioner to fit properly is a chore. This support blacket is not only very well made, easy to set up and install it holds and places the AC excatly where it needs to go and gives it the appropriate downward pitch. It worked out so well I purchased a second one and will get a third for next summer. I have 3 small units and this bracket is probably overkill (will hold 200lbs claimed) but the ease of instalation makes it worth buying. ... show more

For such an expensive product I would expect it to be able to hold up to even one summers use. I really loved how stable they made both of my units feel. However, upon taking it out and collapsing for storage both of my mounts’ push lock fell into the arm, now rendering them incredibly unstable. I worry about use of them without the lock mechanism. Incredibly disappointing for what would have been five stars for easy set up and storage. ... show more
