This cover is made of better material than a thinner, green cover I had that ripped due to dry rot. Additionally, it covers all the exposed sides including the bottom of the air conditioner. The belts hold it securely in place; although, I always duct tape around the edges of the window also. The belts are wide and buckle together. I installed a window A/C unit because I fear rolling black outs of electrical power this summer when the temperature starts hit the 100 degree mark in south Texas. I can use this unit and my portable gasoline powered generator to keep at least part of my house cool. I am covering the unit this summer until I need it. This cover is very thin. I was hoping for something like canvas and I got something like silk. Well, maybe not that thin but thin. Because of the braces I used for the window air conditioner I had to modify this cover some but all in all it worked out to do the job and looks good.
