This cover is made of better material than a thinner, green cover I had that ripped due to dry rot. Additionally, it covers all the exposed sides including the bottom of the air conditioner. The belts hold it securely in place; although, I always duct tape around the edges of the window also. The belts are wide and buckle together. The product overall is good however, it is NOT waterproof. We've had rainy days and water has accumulated at the bottom. It should not advertised as such if it is not.
