Only needed one of the set for my damaged AC unit fins. By getting the whole set I was able to find the perfect sized one to fit my unit. With a little practice it worked great. After extended heavy use some of the teeth wore off but still usable. Better to have the tool break than my AC unit coil be punctured or damaged while straightening the fins. The plastic combs do not straighten AC fins very well. The plastic has much friction with the aluminum fins. It is very difficult to slide the comb through the fins. If the fins are bent at a 90-degree angle, the comb just sticks and rips out the fins. I believe a metal comb would work better.

Perhaps nothing could have resurrected this mess! My 3-star rating is because none of the tool fins aligned with the fins on my window unit. Otherwise, it might be a fine tool to have.

I have a window ac unit with a high fins/inch number. The plastic on the fin straightener is imprecisely manufactured suck that there is a little flare of plastic at the end of each tine. This makes it very difficult to properly insert. Once you have maneuvered each tine into place the plastic is so flimsy is doesn’t even straighten bent fins. Ended up causing more harm than good. Only saving grace is the metal cleaner. That actually does its job, but wasn’t what I cared about. Save yourself $10 and look elsewhere. ... show more
