I had a food saver sealer for several years and it simply stopped sucking. Reading the reviews on this Ink Bird, and for the price I gave it a shot, and I was not disappointed. I am happy to see that it works with food saver cannisters and bags so I don't have to buy new ones, especially in this economy. It is simple to use, no instructions needed, it is fairly intuitive. There is one small caveat. How the cutter is used, is a bit of an annoyance to me, but I can live with it. The lever does not open very far, so it makes it cumbersome to use a large roll. I like to measure the amount I need against whatever I am sealing, but you have to role the amount back to get it in the slot, then express the bag out again, hoping you remembered how much you measure. I solved this my parking on the roll with a pen. Like I said, a minor annoyance that anyone can live with. I like it, it works great, it seals great, and it is quick. In addition, it includes extra parts for the sealing that the food saver did not. This is great in the event the foam seal cracks or chips. You have spare. That alone is a major plus for me. The vacuum sealer arrived quickly and I like the included accessories. The ability to store a roll of bags inside the sealer is a nice bonus that other similar-priced sealers don’t offer. Worked okay for awhile, only used it a few times. All the buttons work, you can hear the motor and the pump running, but it will not pull a vacuum. Rechecked all the seals, cleaned them even tried flipping them and reinserting. Does not appear to be a problem with a leak in the vacuum chamber, it just isn't pulling the air out. The motor is running, I assume the pump has failed. UPDATE: The company did contact me and sent a brand new replacement, free of charge. So, I hope this one holds up better, but at least they did try to make it right! ... show more
