I found that even the small grid was a bit too small for blueberries, so ended up with a bunch at the bottom, but otherwise everything I've tried has worked very well. If you slice your bananas at the peak of ripeness, just after the spots appear on the skins, they come out great, but my experience is that they will take a little longer than expected. With figs I saw the same thing, they took about 50% more time than expects. Same with the blueberries. I believe I'll put down a layer of cheesecloth for my next foray into them. This is a great dehydrator. It works well. I like all the different shelves. It allows for me to dehydrate a lot of items at one time. I am curious to try this out with meat to make some jerky. So far I’m impressed with this machine though.

    • Large capacity strange controls

This is quite a large dehydrator, that has nice shelving racks in two styles. One grid type is a finer grid and the other is more of a standard shelving wire. it is medium in loudness, This is not fan driven like some that the contents as they get dry can shift around. The top shelf items definitely get warmer and drier than the items on the bottoms shelf. I am using a silicone shelf liner on four shelves and there is some difficulty in drying the bottom layers. Also, I found the digital setting is strange, as it shows minutes, when the time is actually hours. The time jumps in 30 minute increments, so critical timing is not possible from the settings. Also, if extra time is needed for drying, the unit has to be shut down and restarted from scratch to add additional time or extra minutes. i find that a bit annoying, as I think i should be able to adjust settings while it is running. So far is ok, but I’m thinking a full season of dehydrating is in order to really test the capabilities with drying herbs and food. I am now drying ground carrot, and it seems to be taking a very long time, so i have upped the temperature and time and see if this unit performs better. ... show more

    • Dehydrated mangoes for days

I was so excited to get a dehydrator. I spend probably 20 dollars a week on dehydrated apple chips and mangoes that I snack on at work. I tried both in the dehydrator and was impressed with how well it worked!!! I’m currently in a very small apartment, so finding the space to store this is tricky. Once I have a larger space I’ll probably keep it in the garage. But I think it is well worth it. My one complaint is that when I was unboxing it, it slipped from the hands and fell about three inches into the floor and broke off one of the legs. I was disappointed that they weren’t sturdier, but I’ll find a more permanent way to replace that leg. Overall very happy with this! ... show more

This thing is large, and takes up a lot of space. I am fortunate enough to have a garage to store it in, otherwise it does take up a lot of room. Works great, easy to navigate. You get different size trays, and its much easier to place everything on racks verses in the circle ones.

    • Large volume dehydrator.
Size: 9-Trays/45L
This dehydrator is large yet light and allows for a large volume to be dehydrated at once. My only complaint is that the edges on the outside get a discoloration around the seams while in use but it does seem to clean up well.
