  • Perfect for batting practice and fielding.
This machine can/will shoot out regular baseballs at a high rate if cranked up to 10. Easily able to set up and can move the base up to 45 degree up or down for fly balls or ground balls. If you use light balls it will shoot them up to 80 mph and it does. The baseball loader works perfect also and gives you about 5-7 seconds between balls. Overall a great buy for $400 instead of paying $1500 - $2000. ... show more

  • Easy setup. Immediate results.
Neatly packaged. Setup in less than 10 minutes. Pitching wheel does NOT contain air when shipped. You must inflate before first use (it will look inflated but is not). I purchased the yellow dimpled heater balls and recommend you do as well. Consistent pitches with those balls with enough variability in accuracy for them to develop a discriminating eye (but all within strike zone). I also purchased the 24' extender batting cage (which is perfect size for little leaguers - mine are 10 and 9). Purchased because my kids were struggling at the plate (mainly with timing). They both missed every pitch on first 12 pitches. By the next round they were striping line drives. I can't speak to long term durability yet (only one day of use) but it does seem to be very solidly built. My only complaint in that speeds 1-5 are useless (can't reach plate from 24'). Speed 6 1/4 reaches plate at a velocity that seems to mimic what they are seeing in all star little league play. Speed 10 is impossibility fast for their age (so room for growth as they age) I stood in for a max speed pitch at 24' and didn't even have time to start my swing...reflexes aren't what they used to be 😀 Overall, I'm satisfied. We'll see how it holds up over time. ... show more

  • The variable speed option is great because it allows you to adjust pitching speed as ...
If you're looking for a professional pitching machine keep looking. However, this is a solid piece of equipment if you're looking to improve your swing. The variable speed option is great because it allows you to adjust pitching speed as your batting improves. I would recommend this machine for kids ages 7-12. Top speed is around 52 mph at full throttle. This is fast enough if you are battling in a 22 to 26 foot cage. Works well with both baseballs and wiffle balls but will scuff your baseballs real good unless you buy leather ones. The pitch is always within the strike zone but varies with some outside, inside, high and low pitches which is great because it simulates real live pitching. The balls occasionally get tuck in the feeder so I recommend someone always standing behind the machine during practice to avoid interruptions for the batter during a jam. The jams however have become less and fewer in between uses. My thoughts is that the wheel has to break in before it starts operating at peak efficiency. Overall it is definitely worth the money If you are not willing to spend thousands on a professional unit. I was skeptical at first but i'm glad I took the plunge after reading a lot of the reviews. My son has made huge improvements in his batting that have carried over to his little league games. Coaches have complimented his improvement. ... show more

  • The accuracy is suspect at best. However for what you get for the price
Still having trouble getting to know it. The accuracy is suspect at best. However for what you get for the price, I say buy it. The problem with this machine is that it is too expensive to be a gimmick machine that pitches foam balls but not yet the quality of the high end double wheel machines. I would say 7 out of 10 balls are strikes that come out from 22 feet. 12 balls, plus feeder, plus machine was a pretty good deal. I have only had it for a week but assuming it holds up, it is a pretty good machine. Assembly is nothing. The only assembly is putting the legs on and airing the tire up. If it was more consistent in throwing strikes I would give it 5 stars. ... show more

  • Works as expected
My boy is loving this! It’s not amazing but for the money I think it’s well worth it.

  • It's just ok.
This is my second heater baseball pitching machine. They are average at best. The ball feeder doesn't fit. The consistency is poor. You can put any ball you want through it. It does best with baseballs. Make sure the wheel has adequate psi. The heater balls are pricey AF. It's an expensive mediocre ball pitcher. ... show more

  • Great while it worked
It's the second Heather Sports Pitching Machine I bought and I've lost both of them. The first one lasted longer but this one worked for just 2 months and the electrical board blew up. My son only used it twice a week for those 2 months. Really bad quality.

  • Solid device if you aren't expecting a juggs machine from a batting cage
Combined this machine with one of the 22 foot heater cages and my 7 year old has been able to practice more consistently. We got about 80 of the yellow dimpled pitching machine balls. I wouldn't recommend using real baseballs. About 4/5 pitches are accurate, the others are off a foot or two. I look at it as a positive since he has to work on his strike zone recognition anyway and not swing at bad pitches. Its pretty heavy and sort of a pain to move with legs on. I don't mind it, but its too heavy for my wife for when I'm not home. ... show more
