    • Works really well for it's size
This comes well packaged and protected. When I opened it, it seemed like I would never figure it out. I've never owned one before but have always wanted one. After seeing fruits and vegetables going bad before I could get around to using them was frustrating! Most dehydrators are really expensive and if they aren't they're too small to do much good. Then I saw this one at $99.00 and 8 shelves to spread things out on and the small footprint it takes on my countertop I knew I had to order it. I've not been disappointed with this at all! The booklet gives very clear and through instructions on how to assemble it and use it that anyone could use this with ease. So far I've done bananas and apples. Both came out great. When I go shopping next I'll grab some lemons and oranges and see how they come out. I figure that I can save them for warmer weather when I have iced tea. For now I'll use them in hot tea and in the filtered water I drink daily. It will be nice not to have to worry about my fruits and vegetables going bad. It's so simple to use. Just slice up your fruit or vegetables and lay them on the trays. The machine has some preset controls to help you out but also a booklet telling you how to do everything. While it's working you've got a full view of everything inside. With the clear sides and trays it's always easy to check on them. Some have mentioned that it might in the end be cheaper to just freeze them but then you have to worry about freezer burn. I'd rather dehydrate them and just store them in an airtight container and then I don't have to worry about them going bad before I've gotten the chance to use them. I'm really glad that I ordered this and I will be putting it to use every chance I get. Next I'll give a go at onions and garlic along with assorted peppers. The price is right, the controls work very well. Over time, I will see if the plastic holds up to the heat. I like the shelf materials, sturdy but if the mesh was a bit smaller that would make it even better.     • Much easier to use than my old round one
This was such a breeze to put together, and what a difference design makes! I had an old round dehydrator with stackable trays that was just a pain to use. These slide out trays make all the difference. My dogs now have healthy chicken jerky for treats. It is nice knowing that the treats I feed them have been prepared by me, and I know everything that went into making them - chicken, just chicken, and nothing but chicken! The cost of making them at home versus buying in the store means that this dehydrator will pay for itself in nearly four months (we have two dogs, and they have friends). I plan to have dogs longer than four months, so this is a smart investment. The trays are easy to clean and use. The directions and recipes for drying various items are great - I may try drying some other items once I'm caught up on chicken jerky for the dogs. The media could not be loaded. This is a good quality dehydrator with plenty of room to dehydrate a large batch of jerky, fruits, vegetables, or a combination of such. It is not flimsy or fragile, but sturdy and durable. The assembly of the unit was easy and straightforward, and everything needed for the assembly is in the box. Since assembling it, I have used it primarily to make beef jerky, and it has worked great for such (as shown in the video). It has also worked perfectly for bananas and apples. One thing I particularly like about it is that the touchscreen user interface and controls are very easy to use, plus you can change the time and/or temperature while the dehydrator is running and without having to restart your batch or the dehydrator. Another thing I like about it is that it comes with a great 2-year written warranty and a warranty card (see photos). One thing that could be improved is that it only comes with two plastic trays (one is a drip tray to put at the bottom of the dehydrator, and the other is a tray to use on the metal trays), and this product could be improved if they gave you a plastic tray for each of the eight metal trays that come with it. Overall, though, this dehydrator is well made, easy to use, works great, has excellent user-friendly controls for time and temperature, and backed up by a solid warranty.     • So cool.
I've always wanted to try food dehydrating, but never had the means or the know-how. This device gives me both. It comes with a really useful guide for use and setup instructions to assemble the machine. I love banana chips and have bought them a bunch of times, so that's the first thing I wanted to try to make. It's so easy to do with this machine. And you know exactly where the banana came from, and how it was made, unlike buying them from the store. Honestly this thing is worth it to me as a banana chip making machine, but I do want to try other things, especially jerky. I look forward to getting into that at some point in the near future. ... show more

This dehydrator is such a great size compared to my old one which was huge (the size of a small refrigerator). I like that I can do small batches of herbs, fruits, or vegetables. The fan seems to circulate the air evenly and the temperature and time control work well. It is decently quiet. However, the stainless steel trays are not to my liking. They are a twisted and woven wire grid and not easy to clean. I’ve already replaced them with silicone mesh. Other than the trays, I like the dehydrator. Four stars. PS. The dehydrator needs to be assembled. It takes about 15 minutes and is not at all hard. The manufacturer includes a special tool to assemble. ... show more
