Description

Make chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate covered pretzels, cake pops and more with the Wilton Candy Melting Pot. It features an easy-to-clean and convenient removable silicone pot with an ergonomic, heat-resistant handle and two easy-pour spouts — perfect for pouring melted candy into a decorating bag or drizzling directly onto treats. Once finished, simply chill the silicone pot until the candy hardens, then gently squeeze the soft silicone insert to pop out the remaining candy. The pot has two temperature settings, warm and melt so you can quickly melt up to 2 ½ cups of Candy Melts candy or chocolate in less than 10 minutes and keep it warm for dipping. An innovative heating base stays cool to the touch, a safety light indicates when the pot is on and it has rubber feet to keep it steady and in place on your counter. Powered by a standard 120-volt cord with polarized plug. Complete instructions included. Instructions- Wash removable silicone pot before and after each use. Be sure silicone pot is completely dry before adding candy. To preheat, place silicone pot in heating base; turn switch to Melt for 5 minutes. Use Wilton Candy Melts candy or chop melting chocolate into small pieces. Use smaller amounts for faster melting. Stir candy occasionally until completely melted. Add more candy if desired, up to MAX FILL line. When completely melted, move switch to Warm to keep candy fluid. If candy begins to cool and thicken, switch back to Melt. When finished, switch to Off and let pot cool before cleaning.

I wanted to be able to dip my own fruit to make somewhat healthy desserts. The chocolate melted fast. Now, I learned an important lesson next. It won’t work well with frozen fruit! Take it from me and don’t waste your time or chocolate on something frozen. It made the chocolate solidify, then it had to melt again. This was no fault of the machine, this was my fault. This will work best with room temperature items. Over all this is a great little machine. Cleaned up very easy. Used a paper towel to remove as much of the left over chocolate as I could. Rinsed with really hot water then put the melting cup in the dishwasher. Tip: You don’t want to dump extra chocolate down the drain, it will clog your drain. Heating unit wipes off easily. This works GREAT using regular grocery-store baking-aisle chocolate-chips. I was worried special "melting wafers" would be required, but no, regular Toll House/Kroger and Ghirardelli chocolate works just fine! I've used both semi-sweet and white chocolate chips. As per the directions, it does take about 20 minutes to melt a pot-full of it, so plan your timeline accordingly, but it keeps it melted without issue and is really easy to work with and clean. I love the plastic insert -> it makes it so much easier to clean. Popping off the residual chocolate is just as easy as it's advertised. I can't speak to the lifespan, but I imagine it's pretty simple electronics and should last a long while. I'll come back and update this if it breaks/burns out in the near future. In summary: If you occasionally play with melting chocolate, dipping or drizzling, THIS IS GREAT. My biggest regret with this, is that I didn't buy it sooner. ... show more

This little Candy and chocolate melter worked great. It kept the chocolate at the perfect temperature for dipping. It has two settings. One high and one low. I recommend starting it out on high and then dropping it to low once your chocolates have melted. It melts the chocolates pretty fast. About 10 to 15 minutes for a full batch. It has a silicone insert that you put your chocolate into. When you're all done, just let the chocolate harden back up, pop it out of the silicone insert and throw it in the baggie for the next batch and the insert cleans right up because nothing sticks to it. If you like dabbling in chocolates and or making candy, I suggest that you give it a try. It works better than a double boiler and there's less chance of getting any water in your chocolate during the melting process. ... show more

This arrived in its original packaging box, which was completely fine, BUT it wasn't even sealed shut. The only thing holding it closed was the tab feature.
