I had been wanting a food dehydrator for some time, but it was never a priority. I can't believe I waited so long! This is a fantastic addition to any kitchen. The pull-out shelves make it easy to put items in and out, check on things and they're easy to clean. This is great for more than just jerky. (Although I do love my jerky!) In the grocery store, dried fruit is so expensive, and you never know what's been added. Now, I can dry my own. So far, I've tried mango and strawberry. But, I'll be continuing with a lot more. This food dehydrator is very well made. It is sturdy and durable. It is easy to clean. We have used it a couple of times now and it works perfect. Love the slide out drawers So much easier to use than the round stackable ones. Highly recommend!

    • Great for beginners and those who dont use it all the time
I got this food dehydrator machine, and I am pretty happy with it. It has eight stainless steel trays, which give me plenty of space to dry different foods at once. The LED display is easy to read and use. The 48-hour timer is really helpful because I can set it and forget it. The temperature range is from 86℉ to 167℉ which is perfect for various foods like jerky, herbs, veggies, fruit, and even dog treats. It is 600 watts, so it dries food quickly and evenly. I tried a few recipes from the included recipe book, and they turned out pretty decent. The fan is a tad bit noisy IMO, which is why I didn’t give it five stars. However, the noise isn't too bad, and the results are worth it. Overall, it is a fantastic dehydrator for anyone who loves homemade snacks. But it does break down very small if you plan on only pulling it out once or twice a year and that sorta compensates for the minor noise. ... show more

    • Works really well for it's size
This comes well packaged and protected. When I opened it, it seemed like I would never figure it out. I've never owned one before but have always wanted one. After seeing fruits and vegetables going bad before I could get around to using them was frustrating! Most dehydrators are really expensive and if they aren't they're too small to do much good. Then I saw this one at $99.00 and 8 shelves to spread things out on and the small footprint it takes on my countertop I knew I had to order it. I've not been disappointed with this at all! The booklet gives very clear and through instructions on how to assemble it and use it that anyone could use this with ease. So far I've done bananas and apples. Both came out great. When I go shopping next I'll grab some lemons and oranges and see how they come out. I figure that I can save them for warmer weather when I have iced tea. For now I'll use them in hot tea and in the filtered water I drink daily. It will be nice not to have to worry about my fruits and vegetables going bad. It's so simple to use. Just slice up your fruit or vegetables and lay them on the trays. The machine has some preset controls to help you out but also a booklet telling you how to do everything. While it's working you've got a full view of everything inside. With the clear sides and trays it's always easy to check on them. Some have mentioned that it might in the end be cheaper to just freeze them but then you have to worry about freezer burn. I'd rather dehydrate them and just store them in an airtight container and then I don't have to worry about them going bad before I've gotten the chance to use them. I'm really glad that I ordered this and I will be putting it to use every chance I get. Next I'll give a go at onions and garlic along with assorted peppers. Easy to clean up and works great. We started a farm and are working to he more self sufficient. This helps me make a variety if snacks and preserve foods. It's compact but holds a lot.

I never owned my own dehydrator and decided to give this one a shot. It's definitely different than previous ones I have used (the ronco style). This one has the door that opens and trays that easily pull out which I think is way more convenient than the ronco one I tried where it's the circle trays stacked on top of each other and you have to put them all together. This dehydrator was easy to assemble and it's super easy to use. The trays and easy to clean. The fan runs louder than I'd expect, but I'm used to one with just a heat bar and no sound, so I can't complain too much about it. It takes up some real estate on the counter, but I'm not constantly dehydrating so it's something I can get out when needed and put away in the garage when I'm not.     • Easy to Assemble, Easy to Use
I used to have a dehydrator that was used a few times but it was such a pain to put together and then clean afterwards that it fell into disuse and finally given away. This one is so much easier to assemble, use and then cleanup. This takes up very little space on my countertop. It operates very quietly. The controls are easy to understand and to use. Finally, it holds a lot. I love dried fruit but it is so expensive for a little bag at the grocery store - and look at the list of ingredients! Here I can make as much as I want with only the ingredients I want for just the cost of some apples, oranges, etc. Recommended ... show more
