This tool is the best. Seriously. It's my first Festool tool and it makes me want so many more. It's worth the money. It gets the job done. I'm working some live edge slabs to make large shelves on both side of my fireplace. This tool has cut the time its going to take me to finish the slabs by at least 50% if not closer to 75%. It does jump around on me but my slabs are not 100% level and when going over a knot the unevenness is what seems to make it jump. The tool does all the work you dont need to press down on it just guide it around the wood. I LOVE the vacuum connection port. I was able to rig it to my shop vac (I dont have a festool "shop vac" yet) from notes I found online about good connectors. The vacuum collects all of the dust. ALL OF IT. I dont have any cleanup after I sand. Seriously, a great purchase. Buy the right tool for the job and your end product will be so much better. ... show more

    • I wish I hadn't waited
I'm a general contractor and tools is life, at least very important. It was the price holding me back for so long, I'm new to Festool and couldn't justify the price. Boy was I wrong, now that I've used it, I would have paid double. What would have taken me days in the hot sun, only took a few hours. Not only was it quicker, but it also did a better job. Warning this is a gateway tool (like a gateway drug) I've now purchased another Festool since then hopefully, I'll be able to stop soon or my wife is going to kill me. ... show more

This product is dollar for dollar a super value. It works great and looks great. It comes with it's own systainer (basically container). If you are in doubt do not be. This is a tool that you can pass on to future generations. You definitely get what you pay for. This tool will help me not only make money if I like.     • Speeds up sanding.
Wish I would have bought yrs ago. It sands great in Rotex and orbital mode. The sandpaper is more expensive however it holds up longer than several of my 5 inch discs.

It doesn’t get any better than this. I sanded my entire wrap around deck with this. I attach a standard shop vac that I already have to keep the dust down. I absolutely love this sander—it’s worth the money. A bit of a warning, however, this sander is addicting to use…

Amazing sander, research the correct type of sanding media/pad to get for the specific material your working with and the pads go a very long way. I run filtration through a Bosch VAC005 hose into a dust deputy cyclone and practically zero debris remains.This Rotex is worth every penny!
