Product is amazing. Took a lot of hand muscles to put together tho. The screws were a bit tough to get through in the lid. Upon initial inspection I noticed Minor scratches on one drawer a small deeper one side panel but over all you can’t notice them once it’s all together and the one side panel is against the wall. The product is well built and sturdy. I like that the cabinet locks and that it makes you close one drawer before you can open another to prevent tipping. Definitely holds a ton of files with a lot of weight. If you cannot close your drawers all the way it’s because you need to press the drawer down in the slides more. I like that the instructions gave you a trouble shoot section. It helped me to determine that. Beware to note how the lid comes. I got ahead of myself and took the lock portion off and took a while to figure out how to put back together. I would definitely purchase again. I didn’t address the scratches with the seller because I took longer than a month to put together so outside return window. But I’m still very happy. ... show more

This file cabinet is great. It holds so much. I got the 4-drawer white and gray, and it is beautiful. You have to follow the directions exact. I am not mechanically inclined, but my husband is. It is pretty detailed on the instructions and not so easy to follow. If you get it put together and start putting the drawers in and all the drawers fit fine, but the top, READ THE TROUBLESHOOTING page. Ours did not close so we thought that they had drilled the holes wrong. APPARANTLY, they have had complainants about the top drawer not closing like ours, because it was the first thing listed. If you read the troubleshooting page, it will tell you how to fix it. YOU HAVE NOT GOT THE DRAWERS LOCKED IN CORRECTLY. My husband thought they were locked, but after reading that page, he took the drawers out and shoved them in again. HE HAD TO SHOVE THEM IN SO HARD, he thought he was going to BEND THE DRAWERS, but they locked down and when putting the drawers in again, they fit perfectly. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. First off the instructions to build it were terrible. We had to find a video on youtube to help, secondly the material is extremely flimsy, no surprise to find one of the panels dented right off the bat when opening box. Secondly the drawers do not line up well, they are set in the tracks but do not close all the way. Such a waste of time! Do not buy, dealing with the 3rd party seller and all the back and forth was even more frustrating. ... show more

I’m surprised at how solid this is. It is sturdy and works perfectly for what I need it for. It’s attractive enough for what it is and was packaged well. It was also surprisingly easy to assemble. As others have mentioned, I was a little nervous to bend the tabs that have to be bent to put the drawers together, but it makes perfect sense, and they are very secure. I suppose if you were to bend and unbend them multiple times, it could stress the metal to the point of breaking off, which would be problematic, obviously. I purchased a 3 drawer wide unit and loved it so much I ordered a smaller one. These are easy to put together, came packaged well, have extra keys and are made well. I have paid more than double the cost for one already assembled and these took me 10 minutes to put together. Great buy.

Edited: The shipping was fast, and package/wrapping was good, no complaint on this part. The assembly direction is clear for my handyman husband, and it took around 2 hours with power tool to assemble it. There's is a problem that cause the door won't close (see #1 and #2 pics) -- need to push the drawer down very hard to click into the rail hook, otherwise the door won't close. Once the drawers are click tight, the cabinet is working, along with the one-drawer-open-at-a-time and lock mechanism. Change from 1 star to 3 stars. ... show more

    • Nice cabinet - ONCE IT’S ASSEMBLED!
This was a bear to assemble! The installation video was helpful. However, a power screw driver with magnetic tip will cut assembly time and labor dramatically. Unfortunately, I only had a non-magnetic, ratchet screw driver, and starting those small screws took multiple attempts, each. And, they took a lot of torque to fully insert them. Having an extra pair of hands would have been helpful. There are gaps in the instructions, especially with regard to the locking mechanism. It took multiple attempts to get it right. Now that it’s assembled it is sturdy and attractive (for a file cabinet), and it fits nicely into the space I have allotted for it. BEWARE OF SHIPPING COST. I order so much from Amazon that I didn’t notice the high shipping cost - nearly $80. But, after checking on other cabinet options, I realized that is a common practice for such items. I’m thinking I could have bought one fully assembled locally for about the same cost, once the shipping cost is added. ... show more
