  • Husband's new favorite paddle!
Color: 16mm Size: One Size
This Joola paddle is awesome! I got this as a gift for my husband and he was so stoked to try a new style of paddle. He owns other Joola paddles, but this was his first wide body paddle, and he says he is very impressed. It had actually become one of his favorite paddles and he has been using it more often than his others lately. It's well made and amazing quality as expected from Joola. It's lightweight , comfortable to hold, and has a nice grip. (Extra grip is included as well) What he loves the most about this paddle is the wider body, which has made him have way better control and more accurate hitting of the ball. His hits are more powerful and quicker, and it has great spin. He says the overall feeling of it is awesome and he feels it has definitely improved his game. His pickleball buddies have even asked him about this paddle and say they want one too. He is very happy with it and would recommend it. He will be buying another large sweet spot Joola paddle in the future. ... show more

  • Excellent Paddle - No Cover Provided
Color: 16mm Size: One Size
I'm a 70 year old, 4.0+ player. I own several paddles from different manufacturers. I've medaled in several tournaments using an Engage Pursuit Ex RAW Toray T700 Carbon Fiber PRO paddle. I ordered the Joola Scorpeus 3S 16MM after trying a friend's. The Joola provides similar feel, similar face dimensions, control and response to my Engage. The Joola offers a bit more pop at the kitchen line. Also noticed some extra spin and power on serves and slices. I was disappointed that a $300 Joola paddle didn't ship with a cover. ... show more

  • Pickle those balls!
Color: 14mm Size: One Size
I don't know who Anna Bright is, but her signature paddle is my favorite in my quiver! Look, I'm not a professional or even a highly-experienced pickleballer, but I know what feels good in my hand, and this is it. Great grip, wider body than my other paddles, nice and lightweight, and delivers the dinks like no other. Something something governing body drama, don't play in tournaments, don't care. Also, for my recreational use, the NFC features are superfluous and I feel they could be eliminated to reduce the price - but if you're around a hundred other people with high-end paddles I suppose it could be nice for identification purposes (or, you know, you could just customize your grip tape like a normal person). As other reviewers have pointed out, it's a bit of a bummer to have such a premium paddle not come with a protective sleeve, neoprene or otherwise. I know it sounds like I'm focusing on the negatives, but that's because the general and overwhelming positive feeling is harder to pin down or elaborate on - this is a five-star paddle, make no mistake. Give JOOLA a shot! ... show more

  • Replacement grip was not included in my shipment
Color: 14mm Size: One Size
I love this paddle. I was used to a less wide, longer paddle but got used to the wider body very quickly. My hand speed improved a notch. Bigger sweet spot is quite nice. More spin than expected, a really nice surprise. Grip circumference is accurately stated at 4.125, which is important for smaller hands. My shipment did not include the replacement grip tape as advertised, which was super disappointing. This Joola tape is grippier than others and it would have been nice to have the extra back-up. ... show more

  • An Awesome Paddle with a Slight Power Downgrade vs The Scorpeus 3 so it's UPA-A Compliant.
Color: 16mm Size: One Size
This is my second Scorpeus Series Paddle, and my first one was the Scorpeus 3. Before the Scorpeus 3, i had stayed away from these (and other shapes, such as Magnus' Series Elongated and Selkirks Inviktas) because i wanted to get better at the sport with the traditional shapes that would be "Standard/Regulated" Paddles, after 3 years i decided to try both Magnus and Scorpeus 3 and they both opened totally different approaches on my playstyle and technique. It is no secret why Joola released these Paddles before their 4th Series. USAP Disapproved The Joola Series 3 for Tournament play, the reason? They were too strong, and to be honest, they were. Joola did an outstanding job on designing a paddle that would give you the most advantage while keeping it light and close to regulations. When it comes to the paddle, compared to standard shaped paddles, when you adapt to the subtle differences of the wider shape, you'd feel how the side mass/weight of the paddle makes you want to approach the impact and spin in a slightly different way, you WANT to use the extra horizontal surface to create additional side spin, it is not something that happens consciously, it is hard to explain but you naturally approach swing and technique slightly different and the results are that you adjust your game to it to take advantage of the characteristics of the paddle. Pickleball Paddles are one of those things that might work for you and not for me, but if i had to describe paddles that felt differently after years of the same, this is one that has felt different (alongside the Magnus 3/3S, which is another AMAZING Paddle that feels different) but not only different, but also capable of performing a competitive game with an approach that feels different for me. The surface grip was revised by Joola. Last time i did a review where i mentioned that the Surface was "Sometimes amazing, sometimes not so amazing", but since then i've tested many Joola Paddles from friends and they were all consistent and the grit was very good, produces insane amount of spin if you took advantage of the extra horizontal real estate the paddle offers. Power is slightly higher than the Hyperion, but the Spin is where this Paddle Shines, take into account that these 3S Series are slightly less powerful across the board than the Series 3, there is less "Pop" and less Power, to make them compliant, but still these are MONSTER Paddles that will give you a competitive advantage. The sweet spot is pretty much the whole block, this, along the Magnus 3 and 3s are just solid over all the surface, i don't know if it's related to what they called the "Propulsion Core" but it's solid everywhere. The grip, length and girth/diameter wise is similar to the traditional (Hyperion Series) format. The NFC Tag is a great addition to identify your racquet and probably streamline registration/warranty for Joola, but overall this all reflects in an astronomical $279 price tag. I have to compliment Joola's compromise on making their customers happy and offering refunds from their deregulated paddles, they refunded every Series 3 Owner who returned their paddles, hats off to Joola by biting the bullet on that. I usually complain last about the price tag on Joola's Paddles, and these are NOT getting cheaper, but at least these Scorpeus 3S and Magnus 3S bring something that feels fresh to the table, sure it's not unique, but Joola did it right, and for innovation and quality at least for these two series i can take the high price tag in exchange for the different experience/playstyle. ... show more

  • Watch out for open box/ defective returned items when buying pickleball paddles
Color: 14mm Size: One Size
I bought this paddle new, but received a paddle just covered in brown paper with out any original labels or wrapping. Clearly this was an open box item, which was not stated nor there was any discount ($ 251 at amazon vs $ 259 at Joola store .Though the paddle didn't show any external damage, it had a lot of dead spots when I tried it out with a ball. I ordered from amazon since I am a prime member and I would receive my paddle in two days. Well in reality it took 4days :( As mentioned by a previous reviewer, they also didn't include the free extra grip shown in the picture . ... show more
