For a family of ten this was awesome! I was sharing my tradition of fondue for Christmas with my in-laws (not nerve wracking at all lol) and this pot was perfection. I normally use a fondue set up that’s heated with the gel but always find the heat hard to control and the flame would go out all time if you tried to “turn it down.” Anyways this took out all of the hassle. I cooked the cheese right in the provided pot on the stove which was ideal so I wouldn’t have to use two different pots. This electric fondue pot is so easy to use and so beautifully made. I can’t imagine anyone not loving how well designed it is! My only “watch out“ for future owners is that the heating base gets incredibly hot and it is Very easy to get too close and get burned if you’re not careful. We made dinner and then made dessert. Recommend turning it on high for cooking and 1-2 for melting. I’m really happy with this purchase. I was worried how it would go over, but the family loved it. We received this fondue maker in TERRIBLE condition. It is shipped with only the product box and we have awful delivery people in our neighborhood. The maker was alright but the box was ripped and dented and was soaked through because it was left outside. Amazon really should be sending products in external boxes to keep them safe, luckily we weren't going to keep the box so it didn't matter but having the instructions intact would have been nice. The only gripe I have with the actual maker is the way the power cord attaches. I understand it is meant to be a breakaway cord though I don't know why you would need one, but the magnet is NOT strong enough. If you do anything other than rotate the dial the cord will fall off and has to be reattached at the rear. There is no reason to make it SO breakaway, a stronger magnet or a better channel to help slightly hold it in place would have been preferable. ... show more

I got this to use for cheese fondues, since my electric coil pots I had kept singeing/burning the bottom of my fondue. I bought it hoping that the hot plate style would better disperse the heat, and prevent that problem. I was happy to find upon using it today that it worked! The cheese stayed at a more even heat, without the temperature juggling I was used to from the coil-element pots. I had been concerned about it getting hot enough to melt the cheese, but didn’t have any problem at all with that. I don’t think I’d want to use it for a broth fondue, since I don’t think it would be hot enough for that to be effective, but it is just what I wanted for the cheese, or the chocolate. ... show more

Dash did it again! We’re big fans of fondue, but not shelling out the money to enjoy it at the big chains. This little wonder arrived today and we had another couple over for a cheese course and chocolate course. Everything cooked perfectly and tasted great, and Dash threw in a lot of thoughtful extras for a complete experience. When it was time to switch between courses (and clean up at the end) the cheese and chocolate slid right out of the nonstick pot. All the components are dishwasher safe.
