Its a really large really heavy duty pot... really I dont know what I was thinking. This pot will excel in a condition you need a massive pot so I give it full stars. There was a little burning at bottom of pot from high heat of frying but thicker bottom is not likely needed as the metal is already pretty thick for a pot its size. After reviewing I wasnt sure about it but this is a thick gauge pot... just ask my toe. This pot should last me a lifetime of use. It is so big I would not advise for using for most people so be sure to know your intended application. I bought it to cook a 22lb turkey but that is probably not the best application for frying but it did do the job and well. I just needed a longer thermometer so that I could read the temp not just off the top. It took more than a big jug of oil so my advice there is to get to costko in like Sept not Nov and buy up 2 things of high temp oil at $16/ea instead of really expensive peanut oil at $33 from wallyworld. Since you cook only at 350deg you dont need a special oil. All in all Im really happy with purchase- I just think I probably should have gone with their 32 or similar quart. In retrospect it would have been easier to cook 2 smaller turkeys back to back than 1 big one. ... show more

Only used on one bushel of blue crabs did well easy to clean up. Have been using a turkey frying aluminum pot for 20 + years and salt is hard on that pot , pitting etc. This just fits in my older King Kooker outdoor burner assemble. Will update if anything changes

Good quality stainless pot, it is hard to find a pot of this size and quality without breaking the bank. This is a thick gauge pot of good construction. If the inner basket was 2" shorter than the pot I would have given it 5 stars. That way you could raise the basket a couple inches in the pot to better steam things when required. ... show more
