Description

The CHAMPRO Field Z-Screen is a safety screen built to protect pitchers at every level of on-field play. Keep pitchers out of harm's way as they perfect their arsenal during batting practice. A 1.5-inch 18-gauge steel tube frame covered with a weatherized 45-ply PE net, this screen remains tough and sturdy as it stands guard through intense practices, so pitchers and hitters can focus on perfecting form and technique as they prepare for the next game. This reversible Z-Screen screen adapts to both right-handed and left-handed pitchersjust turn the screen around to switch between right and left-handers. It’s also easy to assemble. Use the push-pins to lock the interlocking steel tubes in place, then slide the net over the frame and secure it to the bottom tube with bungee straps. This heavy-duty screen weighs about 30 pounds, making it light enough to move around the yard or on and off the field once assembled. Attach a CHAMPRO field screen wheel kit (not included) for even greater ease of mobility. Not recommended for batting cagescheck out the CHAMPRO Brute line for extra-tough batting cage screens.

I picked this up from the Amazon warehouse, not sure what condition it was going to be in. Let me tell you, it was a great deal. Pole are good sized diameter, net was thick and easily stops line drives from my 12yo and 9yo. The frame rocks a little, but that is due to being in pieces and requiring some assembly.     • Excellent screen for the money.
We purchased this screen for our backyard batting cage, and are extremely happy with it. We use the Heater 12x24x12 cage system and needed a screen since we're choosing to not use a pitching machine except on occasion. With the Heater brand using an arch system, we thought a regular L-screen wouldn't be appropriate, so the first thing that drew us to this screen was its Z design. Secondly, the price was affordable compared to other screens, so that was a bonus. The screen arrived quickly and was safely packaged. I was really impressed by how nice it was when I pulled it out of the box. The parts are nice, nicely welded and have some weight to them, its not flimsy. It literally took maybe 5 minutes to assemble the parts forming the Z shape, and then maybe another 5 minutes to put the net over the screen. It came with 4 stakes to use on the screens legs to keep them in place, but from our use, they arent needed. Its not moving. My son is 12, has an exit velocity of over 70+ mph and the screen took quite a few of them with ease. Remember, our cage is only 24 ft long, and he's maybe 17 feet away from me, so those balls are easily zooming at the net close to 100 mph. The screen is awesome. The one thing I think the manufacturer can improve on is that they also give you 5 bungee ties to use on the bottom of the net to keep it in place. We chose to not use them, and instead used 4" black zip ties and zip tied each side of the net on alternating sides. This keeps the net down closer to the horizontal base pole that supports the legs. Ive been hit in the foot once before by one of my sons hits and my toe was purple for a month, so this made more sense to us and I think they should maybe consider switching to the zip ties instead of the bungee cords. If you need a nice, affordable, well made screen, then please consider this one. I think you'll find it to be a nice product and definitely a smart decision if you're planning on standing in front of a batter and pitching some BP to them. ... show more

We have been using this for a couple of months and have no problems. It is sturdy but light enough to move around. I love the jagged design for Fastpitch. No complaints here.

Definitely higher quality than I thought it would be. Assembled in just a couple of minutes. Only down side is there is no carry bag. That would be a nice feature if you are transporting to practices/fields. Other than that, this Champro is a must have and could save your life or at least a limb or the family jewels.
