  • Recommend! The creamiest texture with zero effort
I'm a big fan of Greek yogurt, but it’s nearly impossible to find it in stores. I was super happy to find this greek yogurt maker. There are two ways to use it: 1. You make your own yogurt from scratch using milk and yogurt culture if you have it. 2. Get a so-called greek yogurt from any store and use this device to strain excess liquid so it becomes thick, creamy and with a super tender texture as greek yogurt supposed to be. I used a regular plain yogurt from Wholefoods, drained it with the device and the result was spectacular. I can totally see how I’m using it to remove excess liquid from the tofu or zucchini. Buh-bye cheesecloth! Recommend! ... show more

  • Make your own Greek yogurt
When I ordered this initially I thought I was ordering an actual, start from scratch, yogurt maker. But now I kno that this is a Greek yogurt maker and I am still happy about that. This is easy to use and performs very well. I’m able to use pretty much any yogurt that I want to start and it will then do the work by separating out all the whey leaving me with thick l, creamy Greek yogurt! This save me so much money making it an amazing value!! ... show more

  • Fun to learn
I've always wanted to make my own yogurt and when I saw greek yogurt that took it to a whole other level! You'll need some kind of yogurt to start this, probably store bought. It was a bit of a learning curve but I watched several videos to learn how. The maker itself is easy to use, durable, the mesh is fine, and it's relatively easy to clean. You can control the thickness of your yogurt too!! It's a great thing to learn and fun! Plus now you know what's in your yogurt. ... show more

  • Easily produces Greek style to a cream cheese consistency (revised rating 7/2/24)
Being very fortunate to get a weekly supply of fresh, grass-fed milk from a nearby farmer, I make yogurt, kefir and Icelandic Skyr at home. I prefer them when they are the consistency of Greek yogurt or cream cheese, but because hanging them to drain from a cloth bag makes for hassle and a mess, I haven’t been enjoying these healthy, probiotic rich foods as often as I would like to. Purchasing this product was all about changing that! While numerous products are good at draining whey, few provide the option to then press it to a thicker/drier consistency. It did a beautiful job with kefir and now I’m making a batch of Icelandic Skyr, which due to the milder taste (and therefore greater versatility in recipes) is my favorite. Available on Amazon, the company “Cultures for Health” makes a starter culture for making Skyr, which like kefir, cultures on the countertop at room temperature. The product is simple, easy to use and clean and will pay for itself in just a couple of weeks, vs. buying prepackaged fermented dairy products. Revised 7/2/24, changed from 5 to 3 stars: The only reason that I could see for the higher price on this product, over that of its nearly identical competitors is the silicone gasketing around the pressure plate and lid. This was for me the greatest differentiating selling point, as the point of the gasket on the plate is to prevent flowback from the strainer. However, even with the gasket, there is a gap through which the yogurt will ooze up from the strainer and into the top of the pressure plate even after a 14 hr. first drain (see photos). While this wasn't a big issue with draining kefir, for some reason it is a bigger problem with the Skyr. Also, while I had hoped that the tabs which latch the top of the unit to the bowl would soften up with use, they remain so stiff that they won’t latch evenly, and the lid won't seal well to the top of the unit. Because of these issues and considering the price paid, I revised my rating from 5 to 3 and will return the item. ... show more

  • This product from Korea will turn yogurt into Greek yogurt, and it does so beautifully
I stopped making my own yogurt years ago because it just had an awful consistency that I found unpleasant. Recently I have turned to buying Greek yogurt with a higher fat content and while it is truly delicious it is also truly expensive, and seems to get more so as more people want the higher fat content yogurt. When I first saw this product I initially thought it was a yogurt maker. Lately I have started making excellent yogurt in my Instant Pot and I thought this might be a smaller and better way to do so. I was therefore very pleasantly surprised to read this is a way to strain regular yogurt to make Greek yogurt - minus all the cheesecloth and the mess and things that make me stop making Greek yogurt. This is really just a well made, highly efficient, yogurt strainer. The idea is that you make your yogurt (or buy regular yogurt from the list of suggested products included in the instructions) place it in the strainer and separate the whey liquid. Once you make a first run, then attach the included spring which applies additional pressure to the plate, and you get an excellent end product - and ultimately get away from buying that tasty $7/quart yogurt. Like all things home made, the end result will depend heavily on the quality of the yogurt you strain, but it will absolutely remove the whey. And, added bonus, all parts are dishwasher safe. This product is made in Korea, and my personal experience with Korean made products is that for the most part they are well made and built to last. This Gguduck Greek Yogurt Maker (where did they get that name?!) follows that tradition. It is well made, has excellent instructions and recipes and I recommend it. ... show more

  • It does what it says!
I will admit this was a bit misleading at first, thinking you can make yogurt from scratch, when in reality, you need normal yogurt on hand , and in following the instructions here, you make Greek yogurt. Now, there is a way to actually make it straight from scratch but you may have to YouTube it as the instructions on this were not easy to understand. Like they had been poorly translated to English. But the actual product can be used still in your yogurt making process. It's got good quality and it worked well in making the Greek yogurt!! ... show more
