Features

  • Pros have been doing it for years, and now you can too. Sous vide (pronounced sue-veed) is a cooking technique that utilizes highly precise temperature control in a circulating bath of water to deliver consistent, edge-to-edge perfect results, with virtually no risk of overcooking your food.
  • Our best-seller, only better. The first Anova Precision Cooker launched in 2014 and started a home-cooking revolution bringing sous vide to the masses and making Anova a household name in the process. This third generation of our flagship sous vide circulator adds key improvements, making perfect results easier to achieve than ever before. Whats different: 1) We upgraded to use dual band WiFi for improved connectivity. 2) A two-line touch screen display allows you to quickly view time and temperature.
  • The adjustable clamp makes it an ideal fit on nearly any pot that is deep enough to meet the minimum water depth requirements. A removable stainless steel skirt on the cookers lower half makes it easy as a twist of the wrist to detach and clean the skirt either by hand or in the dishwasher.
  • Anova App (free): Control your time and temp directly on the Anova app or directly on the cooker itself.
  • Anova App (subscription): For $1.99 a month or $9.99 a year (cancel subscription at anytime), get access to the ultimate sous vide educational content and cooking guides. Recipes from professional chefs and the food nerd community feed directly to your Precision Cooker at the touch of a button. Continuous access to your personal recipes and cook history, ready to revisit or share with your friends and family. Two week free trial included.

  • Finally purchased a Sous Vide Cooker. Amazing results!!!
First try with the Sous Vide was using Filet Mignon. 1.5 hours at 134 degrees F for a 1.5 inch thickness steak. Then seared for 2 minutes each side on a cast iron high ridge skillet. Alternated the steak position at 1 minute intervals to create a beautiful criss-cross grill pattern. Result was a perfect medium to medium-rare result. I took the advice of others and pre-seasoned the steak using S/P and minced garlic with a splash of olive oil. I dare say that I have found something that I will continually use in the future. I have tried Am Wagyu - Top Sirloin, pork tenderloin and boneless chicken thighs. The beef and pork worked well however the chicken did not sear well even using teriyaki marinade. Love this new, (new to me), kitchen gadget. No more over cooked/ruined steaks. (BTW-reheating LOs works much better than MW if you have the time.) ... show more

  • A delightful upgrade to those tired of app-controlled sous vide devices
We got this sous vide unit to replace one that still works just fine, but was amazingly obnoxious to use. If you are in the same situation we were (and you'll know from the below), don't even think twice... BUY IT. Are you struggling with any of the following? 1. You must use an app to made the sous vide unit work 2. The app for the sous vide has a 50/50 chance AT BEST of actually connecting to the sous vide 3. The app makes it difficult (not impossible, but annoyingly difficult) to just turn the damn thing on and set a temperature 4. App loses connection to the sous vide unit pretty much immediately, and laughs at you if you try and reconnect (but it will still run, so as long as you didn't have a timer going it's fine) 5. You're tired of being shilled paid upgrades to an appliance you already own 6. You don't understand why you can't just have buttons on your sous vide If even one of those items above is bugging you, BUY THIS SOUS VIDE. Oh my god, words cannot adequately describe how much of a quality-of-life upgrade this has been. I press a button to turn on, set my temperature, and go. IT JUST WORKS. The unit beeps when it hits temperature. I have not even installed the companion app and have ZERO plans to do so. Set temperature is dead on when compared to my calibrated thermometer. We used it three times the first week we got it, it was so pleasant to use compared to our other unit. Only negatives (sort of) are that it requires a higher water level than needed for The White Unit, and the sound is a bit louder than the first gen White Unit. I don't find the sound obnoxious (it's a whirring noise about on part with an older water fountain), but my husband has found it more noticeable. We did not ever use the magnet function of the White Unit, so I cannot speak about how that compares. ... show more

  • Piece of junk
Bought this because I wanted a sous vide I could easily control from the device itself, without relying on an app like Joule. Worked great the first time out; the second time I used it, a glitch in the system read the water temp as a constant 33 degrees - and kept heating the water until near boiling. Turns out this is years-old, known issue with these machines that they insist on ignoring, Garbage. ... show more

  • Meal changer
This replaced an older model that I literally wore out, because I use it so much. It’s quite, easy to connect to an app, and stays a constant temp.

  • Works well; but it is energy inefficient an has an app expense
The sous vide device works well: it quickly heats water and maintains the temperature. I like what it does for chicken and meat; my experiments with tuna steaks are disappointing; carrots have come out ok. However, this uses a LOT of energy. I have tried to insulate the cooking tub but I have an app that tracks energy use by the hour, and you can see the sous vide sucking it up. Five hours of energy to cook some chicken thighs -- is it worth it? Additionally, the app to control it requires an annual subscription fee. Because on an iPhone the subscription is for that user, other people in the home cannot log into the app if they want to use the sous vide, they must use my phone. ... show more

  • It works - do I need it? Who knows but I wanted it
It works. Do I need it? Who knows. It is a question for the ages. It is relatively simple to use. Put it in a deep pot of water, set the temp, set the time, press start twice (I think), and plunk your food in its bag into the water. Perfectly done food that doesn't dry out to shoe leather. In order use it you do need a deep pot. I am using my spaghetti pot. You might want to cover it with foil or buy a purpose built silicone lid that fits your pot and goes around the sous vide stem. I got one of them silicone lids as it oinks up far less space than a plastic sous vide pot with its own special lid. You are also going to need to be able to vacuum seal your food into a plastic bag for cooking. I got some reusable ones with a pump. You could go single use if you want. So far it works fine. ... show more

  • Expensive but effective
This cooker works very well. It is not cheap, but I would rather pay a little more and get something that is quality. I did not buy the suggested sous cooker, instead I use a dutch oven. In order to help hold the heat in the dutch oven, I cut a piece of plywood a little larger that the top of the over and then cut out a place for the cooker to poke through. Saves considerable energy. My wife uses the cooker on a regular basis and it has taken all the guess work out of cooking meats to the correct temperature without overcooking them. ... show more

  • And the most essential tool in my kitchen
Long time sous vide user and Anova fan. I bought this new device to replace an old one that I have had for over 10 years. The original one still works despite a broken bracket. I don’t think the Wi-Fi functionality is necessary. But no complaints with its usage overall. This model seems to be more accurate and significantly quieter than my older one. ... show more
