Features

  • Pros have been doing it for years, and now you can too. Sous vide (pronounced sue-veed) is a cooking technique that utilizes highly precise temperature control in a circulating bath of water to deliver consistent, edge-to-edge perfect results, with virtually no risk of overcooking your food.
  • Our best-seller, only better. The first Anova Precision Cooker launched in 2014 and started a home-cooking revolution bringing sous vide to the masses and making Anova a household name in the process. This third generation of our flagship sous vide circulator adds key improvements, making perfect results easier to achieve than ever before. Whats different: 1) We upgraded to use dual band WiFi for improved connectivity. 2) A two-line touch screen display allows you to quickly view time and temperature.
  • The adjustable clamp makes it an ideal fit on nearly any pot that is deep enough to meet the minimum water depth requirements. A removable stainless steel skirt on the cookers lower half makes it easy as a twist of the wrist to detach and clean the skirt either by hand or in the dishwasher.
  • Anova App (free): Control your time and temp directly on the Anova app or directly on the cooker itself.
  • Anova App (subscription): For $1.99 a month or $9.99 a year (cancel subscription at anytime), get access to the ultimate sous vide educational content and cooking guides. Recipes from professional chefs and the food nerd community feed directly to your Precision Cooker at the touch of a button. Continuous access to your personal recipes and cook history, ready to revisit or share with your friends and family. Two week free trial included.

  • Finally purchased a Sous Vide Cooker. Amazing results!!!
First try with the Sous Vide was using Filet Mignon. 1.5 hours at 134 degrees F for a 1.5 inch thickness steak. Then seared for 2 minutes each side on a cast iron high ridge skillet. Alternated the steak position at 1 minute intervals to create a beautiful criss-cross grill pattern. Result was a perfect medium to medium-rare result. I took the advice of others and pre-seasoned the steak using S/P and minced garlic with a splash of olive oil. I dare say that I have found something that I will continually use in the future. I have tried Am Wagyu - Top Sirloin, pork tenderloin and boneless chicken thighs. The beef and pork worked well however the chicken did not sear well even using teriyaki marinade. Love this new, (new to me), kitchen gadget. No more over cooked/ruined steaks. (BTW-reheating LOs works much better than MW if you have the time.) ... show more

  • Good balance of performance and features for the price.
I spent a lot of time looking at Sous Vide devices. I wanted something simple enough in case others needed to quickly use it and settled on this one. I did consider the Pro but did not want to spend a whole lot on something I might not like. One complaint I had heard in the past was that the unit was loud but those people must have super hearing because this thing is pretty quiet. ... show more

  • Dependable and east to use
I've had this for years and LOVE it. It can be as advanced and tech-y as you want or a simple on set off too. This immersion cooker sets temperature by half degrees, has wifi for remote control and timing, but also dial and buttons for when you want to start it but your phone is upstairs, lol. Easy to clean, compact storage, low water shut off safety feature, and very quiet. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for in constant temperature and quick heating times. Creates great tasting meat, tender throughout squash, or easy hollandaise! Highly recommend ... show more

  • Do not buy, there are better devices
First the reason I purchased this one was because I could control it without the app if I wanted to, but there are alternatives that would allow for that if that was my only want. I purchased this on a Prime day and just after the return window, Anova announced that to use the app with WiFi you had to pay a monthly fee. And while they did say that if you have an account and device linked you would be grandfathered in, today when I logged in it wanted me to pay, and looking online I am not the only one with this issue. They did note that the grandfathering may change but we are only at 4 days after the cutover so they had no intention. That aside, I also have a Joule that I have had for 3 years. So compared to that, the Joule app is far superior in the ease of use, features, and even recipes. Not that I would pay for it but when a free version is better it makes paying for Anova's app even worse. Also, while they are both the same wattage, I started the Joule 10 minutes after the Anova, with the same amount of water and container my water was still to temp before the Anova. I am just glad I didn't order the chamber sealer too as I will never buy another product from them and will recommend anyone but Anova for people looking at sous vides. ... show more

  • Best Pork I've ever cooked. (I've never cooked it right)
I was literally making meats wrong my entire life, so I had some introspection after eating some great meals. Love this product so much. Worth the money! I work at home, I hated cooking after work, especially the meats. I can just throw my meat in the sous vide, cook my meat within 4 hours, and cook it perfectly with ease. People complain about the noise, its a little loud when heating up. But once it hits the right level it stops being as loud and stays at the desired temperature. ... show more

  • Works well; but it is energy inefficient an has an app expense
The sous vide device works well: it quickly heats water and maintains the temperature. I like what it does for chicken and meat; my experiments with tuna steaks are disappointing; carrots have come out ok. However, this uses a LOT of energy. I have tried to insulate the cooking tub but I have an app that tracks energy use by the hour, and you can see the sous vide sucking it up. Five hours of energy to cook some chicken thighs -- is it worth it? Additionally, the app to control it requires an annual subscription fee. Because on an iPhone the subscription is for that user, other people in the home cannot log into the app if they want to use the sous vide, they must use my phone. ... show more

  • Best Chicken and Steak I've ever made or eaten
This is THE way to cook meat. It takes a few minutes to bag and seal your meat but it is VERY MUCH worth the time. Place your chicken or steak in a sealed bag, place the bag in a pot and turn this machine on and let it bring the meat to temperature slowly and evenly. When it's done, open the bag and place the meat in a hot skillet to brown it and you'll have the juiciest and most tender meat ever. I'm talking restaurant quality meals. I used to always over cook chicken because I was scared of under-cooking it. This machine eliminates that fear. I cook chicken at 140 degrees and then add to a preheated cast iron skillet for about 60 seconds per side and it is perfect every time. Nice and juicy chicken full of flavor. Same with steaks. You can buy two filet mignon at the grocery store for half of what one steak would cost at a good steakhouse (no, not Applebee's). Follow the chart, add your preferred seasonings (I usually only add butter or olive oil) cook at your desired temp, seer it on the outside and enjoy a high quality steak in the comfort of your own home. No traffic, no lines, no waiting, no problems. You'd have to be really really really bad to screw this up. I've left mine on longer than needed (by more than 2 hours) and it doesn't over-cook. It might have changed the texture of the chicken just slightly but I'd still be proud to serve it to my pickiest guests. The cost is wel worth it. All you need is this machine and a larger pot. That's it. You don't have to get a vacuum sealer (although it is nice to have). You can use ziploc baggies. Set it, forget it for a few hours and then enjoy. The only downside I have found is the fact that you do have to plan ahead a little bit. This is not something for last-minute meals. ... show more
