We purchased these for a very long 30+ hour string of flights from the US to Asia. We purchased several other travel items, not knowing which ones would be useful or not (including eye masks, neck pillows, earplugs, etc...). I thought this was gimmicky, but bought it anyhow in case it could make our long flight more comfortable. Surprisingly, this was one of the best travel accessory purchases. First of all, it tucks under the seat and does not impede walkway for others. Secondly, I could use it in many different positions to give my legs a break - by using it for my heels, whole feet, calves. And lastly, it is very light and takes up very little room. I have used this hammock on a couple of flights now and it has helped me sleep on long flights. I’m 5’3” and it isn’t always comfortable to have my feet touch the ground and my legs tend to swell because the blood flow is impeded. However, I couldn’t use it if I wasn’t in a window seat because it would impede with the potential emergency exits of other passengers. If you have room to move, it is easier to install and adjust. At 4'11" plane seats can get very uncomfortable with my legs dangling for longer flights. My bottom and legs can cramp and become extremely sore. This was a lifesaver on an overnight flight to Italy. I get a little restless leg syndrome when I'm really tired which is so uncomfortable, but being able to change the height of my feet, and sometimes use this as a leg hammock too, gave me a lot of variations of leg position which made the comfort level SO much better, that I was able to sleep a little.
